As a dedicated fan, I can attest to Taylor Swift’s broad knowledge base. It’s not just her music skills that shine, but also her insights into various topics, such as the NFL. Admittedly, being in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce certainly provides unique perspectives, much like any partner who has a distinct career would do.
Here, Kelce plays a significant role. Together with George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers, he annually hosts an event named Tight End University. This annual get-together serves as a platform for other tight ends to enhance their skills, all while enjoying themselves tremendously.
During the 2025 event, Taylor Swift stunned everyone with an impromptu performance. Her skills were, as expected, outstanding, but we’ve come to anticipate nothing less from her. What truly amazed people was her unexpected football knowledge, which left a Dallas Cowboys tight end in awe.
Taylor Swift impresses Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson with her football knowledge
Jake Ferguson, a player with three years of experience, has been reliable but hasn’t shown Travis Kelce-level skill for the Cowboys. He might not need to reach that level, but his excitement at meeting Swift at the 2025 Tight End University was so great that he says he hasn’t washed his hand since shaking Swift’s.
To be honest, while I understand that his words were an exaggeration, the essence of what he said still resonates with me. Yet, it wasn’t just her musical prowess that left me in awe when it comes to Taylor Swift.
In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Ferguson shared his impressions of Taylor Swift, stating, “I greeted her and haven’t washed my hand yet. She seems completely ordinary. My fiancée was equally charmed, commenting on how friendly she is. Interestingly enough, she knew about football and even mentioned that the Chiefs have a big game against the Cowboys this year!
In that last segment, there’s just one downside: The Chiefs and Cowboys are set to face off in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. Lately, it seems like every nationally broadcast NFL game during a holiday showcases a halftime performance. It would have been an excellent chance for the league to invite Swift to perform at halftime during this matchup between Kansas City and Dallas.
It’s highly improbable that this will occur, but there’s a possibility that Travis Kelce and Jake Ferguson might collaborate to set things moving towards having Taylor Swift perform.
