Taylor Swift shocks fans as she announces new theatrical movie alongside upcoming The Life of a Showgirl album

Taylor Swift is releasing a movie in theaters as a special celebration for her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

The 35-year-old singer is putting together a special performance to launch her twelfth studio album, which comes out on October 3rd.

She announced on Instagram on Friday that she’s hosting a glamorous release party for her new film, ‘A Showgirl,’ which will be in theaters from October 3rd to 5th.

I’m excited to share the world premiere of my new music video, “The Fate of Ophelia”! You’ll also get a first look at behind-the-scenes footage showing how it was made, plus I’ll explain the inspiration behind the song and share the new lyric videos from my album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Taylor Swift announced that tickets are now available, suggesting fans might want to get their concert outfits ready. She also playfully noted that while dancing isn’t required, it’s definitely welcome!

Just a quick note from me – if you’re planning to catch a showing, definitely double-check the times at your local theaters! And heads up, tickets are going fast, so snag yours now at releasepartyofashowgirl.com before they’re all gone.

The singer shared a striking new photo of herself wearing a red showgirl outfit inspired by burlesque.

Oh my gosh, she was absolutely breathtaking! She wore this incredible sequined top that shimmered with every move, and then this amazing feathered boa just draped around her arms… it was so glamorous! But the best part? This unbelievable headdress! It was covered in bright red feathers and topped with a stunning jeweled crown. I swear, I nearly fainted from the beauty of it all!

Her makeup was dramatic, and featured bold eyeliner and red lipstick.

According to Variety, Taylor Swift’s concert film, ‘Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl’, runs for 89 minutes.

It will be shown in cinemas from Friday to Sunday during the album’s release weekend.

The most exciting part of the event will probably be the first showing of the new music video for ‘The Fate of Ophelia.’

The program is expected to feature footage from the making of the video, lyric videos for additional songs, and Taylor Swift sharing her thoughts and feelings about her new music.

The movie will play at all 540 AMC Theatres, as part of an ongoing partnership with the company. It will also be shown at thousands of other cinemas throughout North America, like Cinemark and Regal.

Taylor Swift’s fans were excited about the news, and one expressed their anticipation, saying they believed it would be a major event in theaters that weekend, especially with the film and new music video coming out at the same time.

‘She is the cinema industry now,’ another added.

‘QUEEN OMG,’ another wrote.

‘WE WILL BE WATCHING,’ another chimed in.

Swift is no stranger to breaking records on the big screen.

Taylor Swift’s concert film, *The Eras Tour*, broke box office records in 2023, becoming the highest-grossing concert film ever with $180 million earned in the US and $261 million worldwide.
