Taylor Swift sells $15M in presale tickets to The Life of A Showgirl theatrical release as Demon Slayer tops box office

Taylor Swift has already earned $15 million from presales for the movie event celebrating her album, The Life Of A Showgirl.

The Grammy-winning singer, age 35, shared news on Friday that her 12th studio album will be available in theaters starting October 3rd, the same day it’s officially released.

The event will play across 540 AMC theaters for one weekend from October 3 through October 5.

Taylor Swift’s concert film is predicted to earn between $30 and $50 million in its opening weekend, according to Deadline. Tickets sold in the first 24 hours after the announcement totaled over $15 million.

Taylor Swift contacted AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron in late August about releasing her concert film in theaters, according to reports.

Although we won’t be releasing trailers to promote the event, digital billboards are already advertising it.

Ticket prices sit at $12 – which was decided by the award-winning performer herself.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to hear that the special release will be about 89 minutes long! Even better, it’s going to include the very first showing of the music video for ‘The Fate of Ophelia.’ I’ve been waiting for this!

Swift also discussed the album’s songs and shared that lyric videos would be released alongside them.

Taylor Swift announced a theatrical release party for her new concert film, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl,’ on Friday via social media.

The star dropped her last album The Tortured Poets Department over one year earlier in April 2024.

Taylor Swift announced on Instagram, where she has 282 million followers, that she’s hosting a special premiere event for her concert film, ‘A Showgirl.’ The film will be in theaters from October 3rd to 5th.

Attendees will be the first to see the music video for my new song, “The Fate of Ophelia,” along with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of how it was created.

The event will also feature insights into the inspiration behind the music, along with the official lyric videos for my new album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.

Swift announced that tickets are now available, playfully suggesting fans get their concert attire ready – whether it’s an Eras Tour look or a cozy orange cardigan! She added that while dancing isn’t required, it’s definitely welcome.

Taylor Swift is well-known for her successful concerts and recently brought that success to the movie theater with the release of ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ in October 2023.

The film features footage from her incredibly popular Eras Tour concert in Los Angeles, and it premiered at The Grove in L.A.

I was so excited to see Taylor at the premiere! And the response was incredible – the concert movie sold a whopping $37 million worth of tickets just on the first day here in the U.S. It’s amazing to see how much people love her!

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the buzz around Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film, and the numbers are incredible! Here in the US, it brought in over $180.8 million at the box office, and worldwide, it’s earned around $267 million. It’s a huge cultural moment, and these figures really reflect that!

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m excited to share what’s coming to theaters on October 3rd! We’ve got a great mix of films – including the new A24 release, *The Smashing Machine*, plus *Avatar: The Way of Water* is getting a re-release, and *Bone Lake* will be hitting the big screen too. It’s a diverse lineup, offering something for everyone!

On Saturday, Taylor Swift’s official Instagram account shared a new video of her talking about the pictures for her upcoming album and how the vinyl and CD versions will be packaged.

Taylor Swift explained she wanted to share as many pictures as possible from this album’s creative world with her fans, while speaking from what looked like a movie set.

She explained that she dedicated a lot of effort to creating the highest quality vinyl records, packaging, and overall CD experience for her customers.

The artist shared that all of the CDs include collectible photo cards, while each vinyl record contains a different, original poem. They ended up adding more pictures than originally intended.

Taylor Swift explained that they aimed for a really opulent feel with this album, wanting it to reflect the glamorous persona a showgirl adopts when performing.

The singer expressed her pride in the album and said she hopes her fans enjoy it.

As Taylor Swift gets ready for her concert film’s premiere next month, several other movies were released in theaters this weekend.

The new anime film, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, released by Sony Pictures and Crunchyroll, earned $17.3 million and became the number one movie in theaters, according to Deadline.

The horror movie ‘Him’ came in second place with $13.5 million in ticket sales, while ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ followed closely behind at number three, earning $12.95 million.

The new romantic fantasy film starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, titled ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,’ earned $3.5 million during its opening weekend.

Critics have given the movie overwhelmingly negative reviews, calling it a frustrating and unpleasant romantic fantasy.

The anime film *Demon Slayer* premiered in theaters on September 12th and has quickly become the top-performing anime movie in the U.S., earning $104.7 million domestically and a total of $555 million worldwide so far.
