Taylor Swift has made it clear she has no desire to leave Earth anytime soon.
Taylor Swift, the 35-year-old singer with 14 Grammy Awards, was recently asked on BBC Radio 2 if she’d ever be interested in going to space, like Katy Perry. She was interviewed by Scott Mills on Monday.
“No way!” she cried, clearly shocked by the suggestion. “Why on earth would I? It makes no sense, and I absolutely don’t want to. Never… oh my goodness, absolutely not!”
She explained her hesitation, saying it felt cold and frightening, and she worried about being able to return. She felt that if she did go, people wouldn’t believe her experience, and even if others went, their accounts would be dismissed or misinterpreted. She simply wasn’t interested in pursuing it.
The singer, whose album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ broke records last week, jokingly said, ‘Thanks for asking! I’m not sure why I panicked like that—it was as if I thought you were going to force me to leave.’
Earlier this year, when asked the same question by Mills, Mariah Carey playfully responded, ‘I’ve done enough.’

Last June, Perry, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez were part of an all-female crew that went to space for approximately 11 minutes.
The space mission received a lot of criticism due to concerns about its effect on the environment, its extremely high cost, and the unusual and over-the-top behavior of the astronauts when they returned to Earth.
Even though they didn’t mean to cause offense, the flight was widely seen as insensitive and awkward.
A particularly criticized moment from the event occurred when Perry knelt and kissed the ground immediately after exiting the Blue Origin capsule.
Perry described going to space as an amazing experience, and shared that he hoped to demonstrate bravery, self-worth, and a willingness to face fears during the journey, speaking emotionally after his return.
She went on to describe the once-in-a-lifetime trip as ‘second [only] to being a mom.’
It’s probably not true that Swift was criticizing Perry’s decision, especially since they’ve made up and are now friends after years of conflict.
Katy Perry and Taylor Swift famously had a major falling out. Taylor even wrote the song “Bad Blood” in 2015 about their conflict, which reportedly started when Katy tried to poach dancers from Taylor’s team and disrupt her tour.

Taylor and Katy had a falling out ten years ago, and according to TMZ, the conflict started when three of Taylor’s dancers left to perform on Katy’s Prismatic World Tour.
Taylor Swift’s release of the song ‘Bad Blood’ sparked controversy, especially after she revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that it was about a personal feud with another female artist, whom she described as an ‘enemy’.
Taylor Swift intensified the drama when she revealed in a well-known Rolling Stone interview that the song was about a rival female artist, calling her a ‘straight-up enemy’.
She told the publication: ‘For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not.
She used to approach me at award ceremonies, say something quickly, and then leave, leaving me wondering if she was being friendly or incredibly rude.
Last year, the other actress did something truly awful, and that’s when we became outright enemies. Surprisingly, it had nothing to do with a romantic relationship!

This involved a business dispute. She attempted to disrupt my entire concert tour by trying to poach members of my team.
Following the publication of Taylor’s interview, Katy responded on Twitter, claiming it was biased in Taylor’s favor. She tweeted a warning, calling Taylor the ‘Regina George in sheep’s clothing’ – a reference to the manipulative character Rachel McAdams played in the movie *Mean Girls*.
In May 2017, Katy released the song “Swish Swish,” which many believed was her response to Taylor’s earlier song, “Bad Blood,” and continued their public disagreement.
A year later, Katy tried to reconnect with her old friend, sending a handwritten note that said, “Hey old friend, I’ve been thinking about how we misunderstood each other and how we both felt.”
