As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing all the buzz! Taylor Swift was surprisingly open about her wedding plans with Travis Kelce while she was promoting her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, this Friday. She really didn’t hold anything back – we’re getting a lot of details! It’s exciting to see her share these personal moments with us, and I’m sure fans are loving it. You can find more information about the album here. It’s going to be a wedding for the ages!
The pop star released her album at 5am (GMT) and easily managed to be interviewed on multiple British radio stations shortly after, talking about her new music.
A frequent topic during radio interviews was the story behind the songs, and how she found inspiration in her fiancé, football star Travis.
Taylor, 35, shared updates about their upcoming wedding after announcing their engagement in August. They discussed details like which well-known friend will be performing at the ceremony and plans for the hen do.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing that this American star really went all out for her wedding! She was so excited, she even invited one of the hosts to celebrate with her. She’s calling it a ‘destination wedding,’ which sounds absolutely dreamy, though she’s keeping the exact location a secret for now. It’s all very hush-hush, but I’m sure it will be a beautiful event. We’re all eagerly awaiting more details, and you can follow here for updates!
While chatting with Greg James on BBC Radio 1 – he’s interviewed her many times before – she unexpectedly shared the news with him.

Greg playfully mentioned that 6ft 6in Travis might ‘pick him up’, but Taylor responded by saying Travis would do that ‘as soon as he sees you at our wedding’.
Greg’s eyes immediately popped and he said: ‘Woah, woah. Am I coming?’
Taylor said, ‘obviously’, before adding that she’d let him know the details at a different time.
This morning, she was also a guest on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show, where she chatted with Fleur East, Will Best, and James Barr.
Taylor was questioned about whether her close friend Ed Sheeran would perform at her wedding. She responded that it would likely be difficult for him *not* to perform.
She explained that preventing him from performing would be difficult. She pointed out that he often says, ‘I’m always being asked to sing at weddings,’ and everyone knows that if there’s a stage, he’ll definitely be on it!
He understands what people desire and aims to deliver it. A really enjoyable part of our friendship is that we both share a passion for performing, writing, and singing. Honestly, it’s quite easy to convince either of us to perform at any event!
Talking about her relationship with Travis, Taylor described him as a lot of fun. She said he’s the most enjoyable person to be around, always bringing energy to any situation, even when they’re alone. She added, ‘That’s what you want, right? To find a best friend who you’re also attracted to.’
Taylor shared that her latest album accurately reflects her current life experiences. She noted that, unlike her previous work, this album isn’t a reflection of the past-she feels much more present and connected to the music now. She described earlier albums as feeling out of sync with where she was at the time, as if they ‘lagged’ behind her current headspace.

What’s really cool about this album, I think, is that usually there’s a delay between when I finish making a record and when people actually get to hear it. It’s exciting that this time, things feel different.
For instance, with my most recent album, Tortured Poets Department, I was at a very different stage in my life when it was released. With this new album, I’d say it’s a complete and accurate reflection of where I am in my life right now.
The conversation about Travis followed her to her other interviews, including her appearance on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North and Sian Welby.
I was so excited when Jordan asked Taylor if Opalite is Travis’ favourite song on the album – and she said it is! She then went on to share what the song actually means, which was amazing. It’s just so cool to learn the stories behind the music, and knowing Travis loves that particular track makes it even more special. Opalite really resonates with me, and now I understand why!
She explained: ‘I believe that’s the song he likes best; he really enjoys it. I also have words and phrases I particularly love, and I keep them in a never-ending collection of lyrics. I constantly refer back to it, selecting bits and pieces whenever I’m writing.’
I had noted the word Opalite because I discovered it’s not a natural Opal, but one created by humans. Similar to diamonds, Opals can also be manufactured.
Travis’s birthstone is an opal, and I’ve always been drawn to it. I’ve always loved that stone, and it struck me as a fitting idea that, just like man-made Opal, happiness can also be created by us.

‘So that is kind of what the song is about the kind of juxtaposition of those two.’
She discussed their engagement with Heart Breakfasthosts Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton, who asked her all about the ring her partner had designed.
Taylor shared that Travis designed the engagement ring with a jeweler she had introduced him to a year and a half before he proposed.
Showing off her sparkling diamond ring to the hosts, Taylor explained: ‘He designed it with an incredible jeweller named Kendrik Lubek. She does all of her gold engraving by hand, and I’d shown him a video of her work about a year and a half ago because I thought her pieces were so cool. It turns out he was really paying attention to everything, because when I saw the ring, I immediately thought ‘[gasps] I know who made that! I know who made that!’
And he actually listened to what I said! It felt like he truly understood me. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted myself, but he seemed to know somehow, and that was pretty impressive, honestly. It’s kind of a flex.
Taylor also mentioned that although she seems like someone who would always dream about weddings, she hadn’t given much thought to what she wanted-even for her hen do-until she found the right partner. She stated she doesn’t typically obsess over weddings like some people do.
Emma mentioned she has a really great group of friends, and she thinks her hen do will be amazing when they all celebrate together. She described them as ‘such a good girl gang’ and anticipates it being ‘one hell of a hen do’.
Despite not having firm plans yet, she explained: ‘The biggest challenge is that everyone is spread out all over the world. Actually, you might assume I’d always dreamed about my wedding, but I honestly never gave it much thought until I met the person I wanted to marry. I hadn’t considered what I’d want or how I’d do it until then.’
I hadn’t given that any thought at all – planning a hen do, actually. This is the very first time it’s crossed my mind!
Emma mentioned she ‘knew’ a few of Taylor’s friends and described them as ‘great fun’. Taylor confirmed this, but added that they are ‘very busy’.
Although Taylor is happily in love and getting married, she expressed some worry that she might struggle to write songs as effectively if her personal life wasn’t filled with sadness. She wondered if a lack of personal hardship would affect her creativity. She specifically questioned if she could still write well without a ‘miserable personal life’.
She admitted: ‘I really love writing songs, and when I first started my career, I used to worry that if I wasn’t personally unhappy, I wouldn’t be able to create them.
I think that’s a big reason why I connect with this album so deeply. It felt like we were capturing something truly special every time we wrote a song for it. And I’ve noticed that people in my life say I’ve never been more authentically myself. It’s funny, you’re you your whole life, but we all have different sides and express ourselves at varying intensities. This person came into my life, and everyone commented on how much more *me* I seemed to be. I believe that really shines through in the music. People who inspire and support you affect every aspect of your life – they help you feel more confident and live more fully.
