Taylor Swift reportedly subpoenaed in Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni lawsuit

In the upcoming 2024 film “It Ends With Us,” which is currently facing legal issues, Taylor Swift’s voice could make an appearance, but it’s been confirmed by her representative that this is the extent of her participation in the movie.

According to various news sources like TMZ, it’s said that Swift was served a subpoena by the legal team of Justin Baldoni, the director and star of the film, in his lawsuit against Blake Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist. This is all part of the ongoing dispute between Lively and the others.

Last year towards the end, a legal dispute flared up when Lively claimed that Baldoni, together with his associates, instigated a defamatory campaign against her following her allegations of on-set sexual harassment. In response, Baldoni filed a cross-claim, asserting that Lively’s accusations are unfounded and have inflicted significant damage on his career, reputation, and personal life, thereby intensifying the heated legal battle.

Blake Lively, a renowned actress who’s graced our screens with her captivating performances, has filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director from the upcoming film ‘It Ends With Us.’ This unexpected turn of events has left many wondering about the nature of their professional relationship and what led to this legal action.

On Friday, a representative for Taylor Swift clarified to The Times that while she did grant permission to use her song “My Tears Ricochet” in both the movie’s trailer and one specific scene, she herself had no active role or participation in the making of the film.

The representative stated that Taylor Swift had no on-set presence for this movie, she didn’t participate in casting or creative choices, nor did she compose the soundtrack. She also didn’t review any edits or provide comments about the film. Interestingly enough, she didn’t watch “It Ends With Us” until weeks after its public premiere, and during 2023 and 2024, she was busy touring worldwide, leading the largest concert tour ever, which is famously known as the Eras Tour.

The statement went on to say that while Taylor Swift was one of 20 artists who licensed a song for the movie, this subpoena is being used more to attract attention through sensationalized headlines than to address the real issues in the case. In other words, they’re using Taylor Swift’s name to generate tabloid fodder rather than focusing on the facts of the matter.

Inside the bare-knuckle legal brawl between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni

The Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni legal drama showcases contrasting viewpoints concerning the strategies employed by influential celebrity lawyers, as they advocate for their high-profile clients.

During the discussion, Swift was mentioned due to documents published by Baldoni’s team that hinted at “a well-known, and notoriously close, friend of Reynolds and Lively.” For over a decade, Swift and Lively have maintained a friendship, working together on projects professionally as well as making headlines with their joint appearances, such as last year’s Super Bowl.

According to Baldoni’s claims, Reynolds and an anonymous high-profile friend are said to have exerted influence on Baldoni, pushing him to agree with changes that Lively proposed in the screenplay.

As reported in the online publications, it’s said that she playfully identified herself as the “Game of Thrones” character, Daenerys Targaryen, also known as Khaleesi, in a message to Baldoni. Furthermore, she referred to Swift and Reynolds as her dragons.

Apparently, Lively texted Baldoni saying, ‘My dragons also safeguard those I’m fighting for.’ So, in essence, everyone gains from my magnificent beasts. Trust me, you’ll reap the benefits as well.
