As a lifestyle expert with over three decades of music industry insights under my belt, I must say that witnessing Billy Joel’s illustrious career unfold has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. From his humble beginnings in the 60s to becoming one of the world’s best-selling artists, it’s clear that he’s got the “Italian Restaurant” recipe for success down pat.

This week, at her Eras Tour Miami show held at the Hard Rock Stadium, Taylor Swift was spotted spending time with music legend Billy Joel and his two younger daughters, enjoying a friendly get-together together.

In a joyful mood, 75-year-old Joel, father of nine-year-old Della and six-year-old Remy with his fourth wife Alexis Roderick, 42, appeared thrilled as he reunited with Swift, 34, behind the scenes before the performance. He also praised her for serving as an inspiring role model for his daughters.

He wrote: ‘Our family attended the Taylor Swift concert at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami where Billy Joel/Elton John’s ‘Face to Face’ concert previously held the seating record.

At the Hard Rock Stadium, Taylor’s second performance marked a fresh chapter and broke previous records during their concert at Hard Rock Miami.

We felt incredibly joyful being involved in the history-making concert! To top it off, we even celebrated alongside her mother.

‘Celebrating someone’s success does not negate your own. She is showing our girls all that is possible. Onward and upward.’

Additionally, Joel and his family were part of the audience along with Taylor’s mother, Andrea (age 66), during the performance, and they even posted another heartwarming photo.

Back in July Joel played his last note of his 10 year residency at a sold out Madison Square Garden

The performance on the show was not only significant but also set a new milestone as it represented the 150th career appearance at the renowned venue, breaking any previous records held by artists there.

In the end, it became a heartwarming family moment when the performer’s daughters joined him onstage, introduced by their mutual acquaintance Jimmy Fallon, to reveal a tribute banner celebrating his groundbreaking TV show.

As a fervent admirer, I felt privileged to find myself seated behind that piano, where Della’s enchanting vocals filled the air and she gracefully danced. The entire time, her father beamed with unbridled pride, making every moment a cherished memory for me.

Remy had an intimate view of the performance from the end of her dad’s piano bench, coincidentally both wearing vibrant burgundy mini-dresses similar to her elder sister.

Besides Joel, there is another daughter named Alexa Ray Joel, aged 38, whom he co-parents with his former spouse, Christie Brinkley, who is currently 70 years old.

The evening consisted of Joel belting out hit after hit that includes the likes of Pressure, Allentown, Only The Good Die Young, Piano Man, Scenes From An Italian Restaurant, It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me, and Big Shot, among many others.

Additionally, he invited Axl Rose, the lead vocalist of Guns N’ Roses, to perform a rendition of the timeless Live and Let Die, originally by Paul McCartney and Wings, as well as You May Be Right.

The history-making residency began back in January 2014, with Joel playing one show a month at MSG.

Over the years he has welcomed such stars as Sting, John Mellencamp, Elvis Costello, Tony Bennett, Paul Simon and John Fogerty, along with recent hitmakers such as John Mayer, Miley Cyrus, Gavin DeGraw and Olivia Rodrigo.

In the 1960s, I embarked on my remarkable musical journey that culminated in the unveiling of my first studio album, Cold Spring Harbor (1971), a momentous milestone in my career as an artist.

As a devoted fan, I must confess that it wasn’t until the triumph of his subsequent hit, “Piano Man” (released in 1973), which reached number 25 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the Adult Contemporary singles chart, that the song truly started to garner substantial popularity.

As a recognized figure in the musical realm, I catapulted myself into stardom with the release of Streetlife Serenade back in 1974, but it was my subsequent album, The Stranger (1977), that truly established me as a household name. This iconic record gave birth to a string of hit singles, including Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song), Just The Way You Are, She’s Always a Woman, The Stranger, and Only The Good Die Young.

As a connoisseur of all things lifestyle, I must acknowledge that songs such as “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant” and “Vienna” have become timeless gems in his artistic repertoire. Over the decades, these tunes have consistently graced his live performances, becoming cherished favorites among fans.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’d like to share an intriguing fact about one of my favorite albums: “The Stranger” by Billy Joel. This was his debut album under the production genius of Phil Ramone. Remarkably, it soared to the second spot on the US Billboard 200 chart for a whopping six weeks! And guess what? It went on to sell an astounding 10 million copies globally.

In the following year after sustaining my momentum, I released “52nd Street” (1978), which eventually became my first number-one album in my career. This achievement was made possible by the success of hit singles such as My Life, Big Shot, Until The Night, and Honesty.

Following the release of 12 studio albums from 1971 to 1993, many of which have been certified platinum multiple times, Joel made a decision to stop creating music within the conventional pop/rock genre as we know it.

In a state of pure ecstasy, I found myself eagerly anticipating the unveiling of his 13th masterpiece, titled “Fantasies & Delusions,” released in 2001. This album marked a remarkable shift in his career, as it showcased classical compositions penned by none other than Joel himself – a pioneering move that left fans like me absolutely thrilled!

In the end, Joel went back on his promise by putting out the single “Turn The Lights Back On,” which was his first pop song in years and just his second such song in over twenty years.

Billy Joel ranks among the globe’s top-tier music sellers, having shifted more than 160 million records globally. In the U.S., he is the fourth highest-selling solo artist.
