Taylor Swift leads the celebrities who are embracing their WAG era after finding love with NFL players

For many WAGs, their first brush with fame comes as a result of being on their partner’s arm. 

However, when it comes to the NFL, quite a few partners and wives of players – often called ‘WAGs’ – are already well-known in the entertainment industry.

These celebrities are often spotted cheering for their significant others at games, and fans recognize them almost as well as they know the athletes themselves.

More and more celebrities – from actors to musicians – are dating NFL players, creating a new kind of high-profile relationship.

Here, the Daily Mail takes a look at the NFL’s famous WAGs.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has been dating pop singer Taylor Swift since 2023. 

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the buzz, and it’s widely known that Travis and Taylor really connected after he attended one of her incredible Eras Tour shows in Kansas City last summer. It was definitely a turning point for them!

He attempted to meet her privately to give her a bracelet with his contact information, but wasn’t able to.

Travis shared the story on his podcast, New Heights, with his brother Jason Kelce. After the story became popular online, it turned out that Taylor Swift had actually begun dating him.

He mentioned on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset she doesn’t chat with fans before or after her concerts. He understands she needs to protect her voice for her 44-song setlist, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

The athlete said that, like at Taylor Swift concerts where fans exchange friendship bracelets, they received many bracelets at the concert. They then explained they wanted to give Taylor Swift a bracelet with their phone number on it.

Jason, his brother and then a player for the Philadelphia Eagles, playfully suggested Taylor turned her down because she secretly favored his team.

He joked that she was likely still upset about the Super Bowl, being a devoted Eagles fan. He suggested she might have fabricated a story just to avoid talking to you.

In August 2025, the couple shared news of their engagement on Instagram with a popular post. She jokingly wrote, ‘My English teacher and gym teacher are tying the knot!’

Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld

In May 2023, people started speculating that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and actress Hailee Steinfeld were dating after they were seen together in New York City.

People exclusively reported that they’d been ‘hanging out for a few week,’ according to an insider.

‘It’s new, but they are having fun,’ the source added.

In July 2023, Josh finally confirmed their relationship with a sweet Instagram post. 

‘Onward,’ he wrote as Hailee appears in several of the photos in the carousel.

The following July, the actress posted photos of their engagement, which happened on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

Simply writing the date in the caption, she said: ’11•22•24.’

Even though Josh usually keeps his personal life to himself, he publicly expressed his affection for Hailee when he accepted the Most Valuable Player award at the 2025 NFL Honors in New Orleans.

In May 2025, the pair finally tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in California. 

On December 12, 2025, Hailee announced she was pregnant with her first child.

Justin Herbert and Madison Beer

In August 2025, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and singer Madison Beer were rumored to be dating after Herbert was seen on the set of Beer’s music video shoot.

The couple attended the Los Angeles Lakers game in LA, where the Lakers won against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a final score of 128-110.

They took their romance public at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammys gala on February 1.

Stefon Diggs and Cardi B

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs and rapper Cardi B have been dating since early last year.

They publicly confirmed their relationship in May by getting cozy while sitting together at a New York Knicks basketball game.

While getting ready for the most important week of his professional football career, the wide receiver was asked about his plans for getting married.

Even with the Super Bowl just around the corner, the 32-year-old athlete emphasized that he’s currently focused on a different kind of championship—a personal one.

At the start of Super Bowl LVI festivities, Stefon Diggs was playfully asked if he’d buy a ring for a rapper if he himself won a Super Bowl ring in the game.

Diggs paused for a second, then dismissed the suggestion with a laugh. He said it might be considered later, but he needed to focus on his own priorities first.

DK Metcalf and Normani

Normani, from the group Fifth Harmony, and DK Metcalf, a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, were first seen together in June 2022.

However, they didn’t confirm their relationship until a year later on Instagram. 

That year, she opened up about their relationship, telling Rolling Stone that she was ‘very happy.’

She shared that she’s had a lot of experience with relationships and prioritizes her own happiness. She described herself as someone who deeply values feeling good and enjoys being in love.

They revealed they were engaged in March 2025, during his initial press conference as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

‘She right there. Hold that rock up baby,’ he said, pointing to his fiancée off camera.

DK went on to share that he proposed in Houston with both families present.

‘It was my sister’s Spring Break, and [I] just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with the ring,’ he continued.

Russell Wilson and Ciara 

Ciara and her husband, Russell Wilson, who plays quarterback for the New York Giants, have been married since 2016. They have three children together: eight-year-old Sienna, four-year-old Win, and two-year-old Amora Princess Wilson.

Russell is the stepdad to Ciara’s son, Future Zahir Wilburn, who is 11 years old. Ciara shares Future with her former fiancé, also named Future.

Ciara says open communication and regular date nights are essential for a strong relationship. She and her partner also make a point of resolving conflicts before going to sleep.

She stated last year that effective communication is essential for a successful country. She also praised her husband, highlighting his exceptional ability to communicate.

She explained that her husband, a Pittsburgh Steelers player, naturally takes a leadership role. He really emphasizes teamwork and bringing everyone together.

She added: ‘I really feel grateful for our ability to communicate with each other.’

‘Not going to bed mad,’ she added. ‘That is really important. So far we’ve never done that.’

‘And dating each other,’ she added. ‘You have to keep dating each other.’

Ciara said they’ve become ‘committed’ to date nights to avoid getting complacent.

They have date nights every Friday because that’s usually the least busy day for professional football players.

She said she always enjoys the experience, feeling the same excitement as when they first started. She loves getting dressed up and seeing him look handsome and attractive, which she feels keeps their relationship lively and new.

Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles

Olympian Simone Biles is married to Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens.

The couple connected on the exclusive dating app Raya just before the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020. They then started getting to know each other when Simone sent a direct message to the NFL player on Instagram.

Jonathan told Texas Monthly that the pandemic actually helped him and his partner connect, because they finally had time to get to know each other without the distractions of their usual busy lives.

He said it was a rare moment where she felt completely helpless and unable to act.

It really helped us connect on a deeper level, you know? We truly got to understand each other, and that’s what built our connection. It made us so close, and honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful for that experience.

The doting couple tied the knot on April 22, 2023 in a low-key courthouse ceremony in Houston.

The couple however did go on to host a lavish wedding for family and friends in Mexico.

Their happy start to married life didn’t last long. Jonathan quickly signed with the Green Bay Packers, requiring him and his partner to relocate from Texas to Wisconsin.
