Taylor Swift is expected to arrive in the UK next week to shoot another music video for songs from her latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.
Sources say the pop star, 35, is filming a top-secret music video for her song “Elizabeth Taylor.” She reportedly chose London as the filming location to honor the iconic actress’s British heritage.
I was so touched when I realized the singer’s second track on her new album was all about Elizabeth! It’s clear she really admired the late actress – the song is filled with little nods and references to her life and work. It feels like a beautiful tribute.
Recent reports suggest Taylor Swift will honor Elizabeth by featuring the city of her birth in the upcoming music video.
Born in Hampstead, North London, in 1932, the acclaimed actress – famous for her performances in films like Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf – moved to Los Angeles at the age of seven.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I just heard from someone who’s on set – Taylor is back in London, filming a new music video! She’s apparently SO excited to be here, I’m practically bursting with happiness just thinking about it! I can’t wait to see what she’s creating!

Elizabeth Taylor, a beloved British star, is planning to film scenes in London as a tribute to the city.
Taylor often writes songs about her affection for London, and the new video will showcase various spots throughout the city.
The song “Elizabeth Taylor” is packed with references to the iconic actress, including a mention of her striking ‘violet eyes’ and ‘white diamonds,’ a nod to her popular 1991 perfume of the same name.
Taylor Swift often connects her own past relationships to Elizabeth Taylor’s complicated love life, especially considering Taylor’s eight marriages to seven different husbands.
Oh my god, when Taylor sings ‘Been number one, but I never had two,’ it totally gets me. It’s like, yeah, she’s achieved everything, topped the charts, but that ‘two’… it’s not another hit, it’s someone to share all that success with. It’s about being at the top alone, and it just breaks my heart! She’s saying she’s conquered the world, but still feels incomplete without a partner to celebrate with. It’s SO relatable, even though I’m not a superstar, you know?
The song also references ‘a view of Portofino,’ a beautiful Italian coastal town that Elizabeth Taylor loved to visit. It also mentions the Hotel Plaza Athénée in Paris, where she and Richard Burton were often guests.
Taylor Swift connected the color ‘Portofino Orange’ to her ‘Showgirl’ era and often wore it during the final shows of her Eras Tour, which concluded last December.

The Eras artist opened up about the meaning of the song in a recent Z100 radio interview.
She described a song on the record called ‘Elizabeth Taylor.’ It’s about her personal struggles and how she deals with fame, and she explores those feelings by imagining what it would be like to live Elizabeth Taylor’s life – blending her own experiences with the actress’s persona.
I’ve always been such a huge fan of hers, and it meant so much to me to talk about her. She was just incredibly glamorous and loved by so many, but strangely, she also seemed to divide people. It really resonated with me because I’ve found myself in a similar position, where some people love what I do and others don’t.
As Taylor Swift fans are aware, this isn’t the first time she’s mentioned Elizabeth in her music.
Taylor Swift hinted at her classic Hollywood style before in the music video for ‘Wildest Dreams’.
In her 2018 album, Reputation, Taylor Swift alluded to Elizabeth Taylor’s passionate and often dramatic relationship with Richard Burton, including the line ‘Burton to my Taylor’ in the song ‘Ready For It?’.
In 2023, Taylor Swift referenced Elizabeth Taylor in an Instagram video. When her friend Kayleigh Teller gave her an opal ring, Taylor jokingly said, ‘This is a gift for Elizabeth Taylor, not me!’

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Taylor actually told everyone she’s naming a song after Elizabeth Taylor! It’s just… incredible. Even Christopher Wilding, Elizabeth’s youngest son – he’s 72, can you believe it? – he’s been talking about how amazing it is that Taylor recognizes their connection. It’s like she gets it, you know? It’s a total dream come true for a lifelong fan like me!
He recently told People magazine that the tribute really moved him, and he found the singer’s references to his mother particularly special.
Christopher observed that Taylor and his mother seem to have a lot in common, describing them as both strong, independent women. He was particularly impressed with how Taylor had skillfully highlighted the connections and shared experiences in their lives and careers, finding it truly charming.
He also mentioned that he thinks Taylor would have gotten along well with his mother, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 79 due to heart failure.
