Taylor Swift‘s fans are facing criticism for intensely examining a quick bathroom scene from her upcoming documentary about The Eras Tour.
A fan account, @taylorswiftstyled, shared a photo of Taylor Swift’s skincare and haircare routine, which includes high-end products totaling around $300. The lineup features cleanser from Dr. Barbara Sturm and Tata Harper, volumizing shampoo and conditioner by Christophe Robin, and body cleanser from Ouai.
What really caused a stir on social media, though, was finding a simple razor mixed in with Taylor Swift’s high-end items. This led to many comments and claims that her fans had taken things too far.
One critic on X commented that fans have become so overly invested in Taylor Swift’s personal life that they’re even criticizing her for something as normal as shaving her legs.
Someone else noted the irony of fans seeming confused about why she shares less of her personal life, considering they intensely analyze every detail in any photo or video she posts.
One fan expressed disappointment that people were responding negatively to the personal details the celebrity shared, admitting they’d hoped for a more positive reaction. Another commenter described the online conversation as going beyond simply being a one-way, parasocial relationship and veering into concerning, stalker-like behavior.

Even though many people reacted negatively, some users explained they were simply curious about what the celebrity’s life is like in private.
‘I’m so surprised that she shaves! I would’ve assumed she’d already done laser,’ one fan confessed.
Others zeroed in on the specific brand of razor.
‘Okay. But what’s her razor?’ one comment asked.
Okay, I know it sounds crazy, but I was *scrolling* through the comments, and someone pointed out what looked like a razor burn! A Gillette, can you believe it? It just…it floored me. After everything she does for her image, I honestly thought she’d have laser or something permanent done. It’s just so…unexpected to think she’s still shaving! I’m probably overthinking it, but it’s just fascinating to me.
One fan jokingly asked if someone spotted a Venus razor, while another admitted to carefully reading the labels of all the products, determined to buy everything—even ‘the pink razor.’
One fan commented, ‘This is exactly what I’ve been wondering!’ They continued, speculating that the person in question must be using laser hair removal or waxing, as they couldn’t believe they’d use a traditional razor.’
One person playfully mentioned using the same razor as Taylor Swift. They then jokingly wondered if most celebrities probably get laser hair removal once they become famous and can afford it, so they wouldn’t have to shave anymore.

Someone else agreed, saying they also thought that, and jokingly admitted to being a bit of a curious person who likes to see how other people live their lives.
Some fans speculated about why the Grammy-winning artist continues to shave, suggesting her light hair color and the limits of laser hair removal might be factors.
Okay, let’s talk laser hair removal. As someone who’s researched this a lot, I want to be upfront: it’s sadly not very effective on blonde hair. The laser targets pigment – that’s what absorbs the light and damages the hair follicle. Because blonde hair has so little pigment, the laser just doesn’t have much to grab onto, so it can’t really eliminate the hair long-term. It’s a bummer, but important to know!
This recent excitement started six years after Taylor Swift revealed on *The Ellen DeGeneres Show* that she shaves her legs daily when discussing her routine.
A video of Taylor Swift being escorted to the restroom by a bodyguard went viral in February, leading to widespread discussion about the challenges of being famous.
The discussion started when photos and videos surfaced of Taylor Swift leaving the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans during the Super Bowl.

Taylor Swift was seen leaving the bathroom with her security guard, Drew, right behind her.
The news quickly spread on social media, with one X user describing the situation as ‘sad’ and ‘crazy,’ expressing concern that she can’t even feel safe using the restroom.
It really struck me when I saw someone comment on how heartbreaking it is to see Drew having to wait outside her stall. It just shows how much we all adore him, and it’s a bit sad to think he’s in that position.
‘It makes me so sad that she can’t even go to the bathroom alone,’ agreed another.
‘I literally cannot imagine having bodyguards 24/7. It would exhaust me,’ someone else added.

‘Poor Tay. She’s living in a fishbowl for the rest of her life,’ read a fourth post.
One person stated they felt it was unacceptable that anyone would need a bodyguard, even while using the bathroom, and expressed their sympathy for the situation.
Someone could easily take a compromising photo of her at the stall and sell it for a high price. That’s why he definitely needs to be present, another user explained.
Someone commented that they could never understand the appeal of fame, especially considering how well the famous person handles it. They added that they themselves would be unhappy if they were in the spotlight.
For the past few years, Taylor’s bodyguard, Drew, has been with her at almost all public events.

He often pops up next to her in photos and videos, and is often applauded online by her fans.
Okay, seriously, Drew is *always* with her, like, glued to her side! I totally get why, though – he’s amazing, and honestly, anyone who even *thinks* about causing her trouble will have to go through him first. I have so much respect for that man, you have no idea!
‘He may look nice but his sole purpose is to make sure nobody [hurts] her, which is terrifying.
‘It allows her to have a NORMAL life. Bro will take someone DOWN and OUT in the blink of an eye.’
Another user described Drew as incredibly protective, saying he stays within 10 feet of the stage whenever she’s performing and constantly scans the crowd, making sure nothing gets past him.
‘We all love Drew,’ announced a different Swiftie.
