Taylor Swift Diss Track: 1975’s Matty Healy ‘Unloads’ on Turbulent Romance in Shocking Secret Album!
According to reports, Matty Healy appears set to lay bare all details about his challenging romantic journey with Taylor Swift.
In 2023, Matty, aged 35, and Taylor, also 35, had a brief fling. It seems that Taylor subtly mentioned their fleeting relationship in her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, taking Matty by surprise or catching him off guard.
As a die-hard devotee, I can’t help but feel a flutter of excitement! It seems our idol is rumored to be reciprocating in kind, and his band is busily crafting their sixth masterpiece. But here’s the catch: To truly savor this upcoming work, us fans will need to keenly dissect the lyrics.
As reported by The Sun, the title track of the album titled “God Has Entered My Body” contains lyrics such as: ‘Maintain your composure, Princess, your crown is slipping.’
According to a source, everyone at the studio believed it was related to Matty’s brief relationship with Taylor and his romantic involvement with her.
Matty usually keeps quiet about his personal relationships, yet he expresses his deepest emotions through his music, revealing hidden thoughts. Careful listeners of his songs should pay close attention to the lyrics.
With their upcoming headlining performance at Glastonbury, it’s quite logical for them to release a new album during the summer. This way, they can leverage the concert exposure and present some fresh tunes.
TopMob have contacted Matty’s reps for comment.
Matty was caught off guard, as Taylor aimed songs at him in several tracks from her groundbreaking 11th studio album.
Previously, a close confidant of the British artist shared with Us Weekly that Matty continues to harbor complex emotions concerning the album that was released in April 2024.
He enjoys the spotlight it has shone on him, finding it amusing since their interactions were never sincere.
In October, Matty appeared to make a subtle jab at his ex-love interest as he discussed his past “casual romantic entanglements” and shared the reasons behind him no longer penning songs about heartache and old romances.
It’s generally thought that Taylor’s song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” targets the lead singer of The 1975. However, Matt has recently stated that composing songs about past relationships is something that’s quite ‘obvious to interpret.’
On Joshua Citarella’s podcast Doomscroll, Matty discussed his approach to creating music and the topics he prefers to explore, stating: ‘Last year, I rose to greater prominence as a public figure for numerous reasons. The sole aspect that piqued my interest is essentially connected to what I was engaged in.’
As a devoted admirer, I often observe that many artists find themselves deeply intrigued by the tales surrounding their craft, or by events external to their artwork that are widely known. It’s only natural that they wish to engage with these aspects, and indeed, it makes perfect sense.
Speaking about his band The 1975, he went on to say: “Perhaps in my initial album, where it was heavily influenced by personal diary entries filled with snippets of pain from relationships, I tended to focus more on relationship-related topics.
He admitted that if he were to create a record, it would essentially involve fabrications since most of the rumors and stories about his personal life, including casual relationships, have been circulating due to his fame, rather than any genuine experiences.
He mentioned, “It’s clearly deducible, yet unappealing to me. I often oppose maintaining things as they are.
I find it unappealing when artists create a work based on personal experiences that are already two years old. It seems that many others are also doing this, and I don’t find it engaging.
In addition, Taylor is recognized for reportedly writing songs that reflect on her past relationships, which include musicians like John Mayer, Harry Styles from One Direction, and Taylor Lautner from the Twilight series.
Following the debut of The Tortured Poet’s Department, a confidant shared with Us Weekly that Matty responded favorably to the alleged song concerning him, and those around him were overjoyed with how well the album came together.
According to a source, Matty continues to hold Taylor in high regard, but everyone was apprehensive about potential comments she might make on her album.
Matty’s relatives expressed concern that Taylor might cause him harm due to their complicated relationship. Despite his recent success in managing life under the spotlight, Matty has faced numerous challenges, and the last thing he wants is for fans of Taylor to perceive him as a wrongdoer.
A confidential source shared with the media outlet: ‘He had concerns that their tale might be portrayed unfavorably,’ but also expressed ‘deep gratitude’ for the warning given by Taylor.’
It appears Matty didn’t show much interest in the record overall. When asked by a reporter from Entertainment Tonight in April about the ‘diss track’, he responded politely, saying, ‘I haven’t heard much of it, but I’m certain it’s well-made.’
In the song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” the lyrics depict a man dressed in attire reminiscent of a Jehovah’s Witness, and Taylor Swift describes him as tarnishing her vibrant summer. Matt Healy, renowned for his black suits during live performances, is often associated with this character, and it is speculated that they parted ways in June 2023.
