Taylor Swift Breaks Record as Best-Selling Vinyl Artist of the Decade, Surpassing Legends

Over the last ten years, Taylor Swift has surpassed music legends like David Bowie, Adele, and ABBA by setting a new record for the highest number of vinyl albums sold.

As a seasoned lifestyle connoisseur, I’d say it’s me who’s been making waves in the UK music scene, with my three blockbuster albums taking over the charts. Midnights, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), and The Tortured Poets Department – these are the albums that have etched my name into the annals of British pop culture.

Based on The Sun’s report, it appears that Taylor has managed to place three albums at the top of the official vinyl chart over a span of just three years.

Her 2022 album Midnights had a staggering 129,000 sales, while her other two fall close behind.

For many people, vinyl might seem like an outdated blast from the past.

However, the classic vinyl record format is experiencing a resurgence, as evidenced by the astounding 6.7 million units sold in the United Kingdom alone last year, resulting in a substantial revenue of £196 million.

The demand also saw ABBA, Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran rise up in the charts.

Besides Taylor, Adele, and Billie Eilish, each of them has hopped onto a popular bandwagon, putting out numerous high-priced versions of the same records in various physical formats.

Taylor last released new music in 2024 on her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

In February, she managed to keep up a strong front even though she left the 2025 Grammys empty-handed, having earned six nominations but no awards.

However, Taylor won big at the star-studded iHeartRadio Awards last month.

The musician-composer was honored with the “Tour of the Century” accolade due to the success of her global Eras Tour, a concert series that holds the record as the highest-earning tour in history.

She accepted the honor via a pre-recorded video.

In her moving address, Taylor shared that she’s spent considerable time pondering over things since concluding her extensive tour that began in March 2023 and concluded in December 2024.

As an overjoyed fan, I can’t find the words to express how significant this moment is for me. This – on behalf of my tour companions, all my fellow artists, my band, everyone who traveled with us, and our dedicated crew – marks not just a regular day, but the two-year anniversary of the inaugural show of the Eras Tour, as she gracefully shared.

‘So I’ve been doing a lot of processing since I’ve been off the road these last few months.’

She went on to explain that many times, the toughest hurdles in life become sources of immense pride or provide an unparalleled sense of fulfillment, especially when one is able to meet those challenges head-on.

Not only was this tour the hardest experience I’ve encountered thus far in life, but it also included a 3.5-hour performance – longer than any other show I’ve given during a tour.

She mentioned: “The fans turned those tunes from the past few decades into what they are today, allowing us to put together a 3.5-hour playlist.

Your enthusiasm and kindness shone through as you made an effort to travel to our tours across various parts of the globe, showing genuine concern for our performances everywhere.

1. “It absolutely astounds me, and I’ll forever be thankful for it. My gratitude runs deeper than you can imagine.”

2. “It leaves me speechless. I’ll always be indebted to it, and I value it far beyond what words can express.”

3. “It boggles my mind. I’ll never cease to feel grateful for it, and my appreciation goes well beyond the surface.”
