Taylor Swift and Beyoncé Clash Again with Kendrick Lamar Leading 2025 AMAs Nominations!
The nominations for the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) were announced on Wednesday.
The event will kick off summer with host Jennifer Lopez live from Las Vegas on Monday, May 26.
Kendrick Lamar received the most nominations.
Additionally nominated are Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, and Beyoncé.
More nominations go to Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, and Beyoncé.
Or simply:
Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, and Beyoncé are also being nominated.
Kendrick Lamar, who currently possesses three American Music Awards, is the frontrunner in this year’s nominations, boasting a grand total of 10. He has been recognized across several categories: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (‘GNX’), Song of the Year (‘Not Like Us’), Collaboration of the Year (‘Luther’ with SZA), Favorite Music Video (‘Not Like Us’), Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Hip-Hop Album (‘GNX’), and Favorite Hip-Hop Song in three instances – ‘Like That’ with Future and Metro Boomin, ‘Not Like Us,’ and ‘Luther’ with SZA.
If he wins in all eight categories, he would share the record for the most awards received in a single year with Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

Previously, Post Malone has won awards in the Rap/Hip Hop and Pop/Rock genres. This year, he could expand his collection with potential victories in categories such as Favorite Male Country Artist, Favorite Country Album (‘F-1 Trillion’), and Favorite Country Song (‘I Had Some Help’ featuring Morgan Wallen). Additionally, he is nominated for several other awards including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (‘F-1 Trillion’), Song of the Year (‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen), Collaboration of the Year (twice – ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen and ‘Fortnight’ with Taylor Swift). In total, he has eight nominations.
2019 saw me taking home the New Artist of the Year trophy, but oh boy, did that just fuel my passion even more! This year, I’m up for a whopping seven awards: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’), Song of the Year (‘Birds of a Feather’), Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Pop Album (‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’), and Favorite Pop Song (‘Birds of a Feather’). I can hardly contain my excitement!
For the first time, newcomer Chappell Roan has matched Billie’s seven nominations across various categories. She is in contention to win awards for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Best Album (‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’), Best Song (‘Good Luck, Babe!’), Socially Impactful Song (‘HOT TO GO!’), Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Album (‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’). Notably, Roan is the sole artist to be nominated in all three of this year’s innovative new categories: Best Album, Best Song, and Socially Impactful Song.
Making his debut in the AMAs chatroom, Shaboozey was nominated for a total of seven awards. These categories included New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (‘A Bar Song [Tipsy]’), Social Song of the Year (‘A Bar Song [Tipsy]’), Favorite Music Video (‘A Bar Song [Tipsy]’), Favorite Male Country Artist, Favorite Country Album (‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going’), and Favorite Country Song (‘A Bar Song [Tipsy]’).
Among the artists nominated for the first time are Benson Boone, Doechii, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Lola Young, The Marias, ROSÉ, Teddy Swims, Tommy Richman, Tyla, as well as Sabrina Carpenter and Zach Bryan who are also contenders for the Artist of the Year award. In simpler terms, these artists have been nominated in their respective categories and are also among those vying for the title of Artist of the Year.
Taylor Swift, who holds the record for most American Music Awards (AMAs) wins with a staggering 40, could potentially increase this tally in the upcoming awards. She’s been nominated across six categories: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (‘The Tortured Poets Department’), Collaboration of the Year with Post Malone on ‘Fortnight’, Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Female Pop Artist, and Favorite Pop Album (‘The Tortured Poets Department’).
Apart from being nominated for Album of the Year with ‘COWBOY CARTER’, Beyoncé is also a contender for the titles of Preferred Female Country Artist and Preferred Country Album.
2014 was a remarkable year for Hozier, as he received five nominations across various categories. These include Song of the Year (‘Too Sweet’), Favorite Male Pop Artist, Favorite Rock Artist, Favorite Rock Album (‘Unreal Unearth: Unending’), and Favorite Rock Song (‘Too Sweet’). If he wins any of these awards at the American Music Awards, it will be his first victory in this prestigious event.

As a dedicated follower, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be there for an incredible night filled with unforgettable performances, even from Lopez herself, at the 51st American Music Awards! The show will broadcast live, coast to coast, starting at 8:00 PM Eastern Time / 5:00 PM Pacific Time on the CBS Television Network. For those in the U.S., it’ll also be streaming live on Paramount+. Can’t wait!
