We’re almost done with Season 5 of Mayor of Kingstown, and it’s going to be a wild ride – seriously, no character is safe! Thank you so much for all your support over the years, we really appreciate it!
Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the creators of Yellowstone, launched Mayor of Kingstown in 2021. The show stars Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, who takes over as mayor after his brother. The McLusky family wields considerable power in Kingstown, Michigan, acting as intermediaries between the police and criminal gangs in a town heavily reliant on prisons.
Jeremy Renner stars alongside Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Taylor Handley, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Nishi Munshi, Necar Zadegan, Laura Benanti, Lennie James, and Edie Falco in Mayor of Kingstown. David Morse and Néstor Carbonell will be joining the cast for the show’s final season, which started filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in March 2026.
The final season, consisting of eight episodes, will continue the story after the dramatic events of season 4, where Kyle McLusky killed Callahan. When FBI Agent Russell Hardy, played by actor Morse, arrives in Kingstown searching for Callahan, he stirs up trouble and puts the McLusky family’s power in the town at risk by threatening to reveal Mike’s hidden secrets.
Before his role in Mayor of Kingstown, Jeremy Renner was widely recognized for playing Hawkeye (Clint Barton) in many Marvel movies, including Thor, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame.
He returned to the role in the Disney+ shows What If…? and Hawkeye. Hawkeye premiered shortly after Mayor of Kingstown began streaming on Paramount+.
As a film buff, I’ve always been impressed with this actor’s range. He’s been in so many great movies! You might recognize him from films like S.W.A.T., The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, 28 Weeks Later, and even action blockbusters like Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation. He’s also tackled grittier roles in films like The Hurt Locker and The Town, both of which rightfully earned him Oscar nominations. He’s also appeared in The Bourne Legacy, American Hustle, and Wake Up Dead Man – a really solid filmography overall.
Jeremy Renner is soon returning to television with season 5 of Mayor of Kingstown, which is nearing completion according to Renner. He’s hinted that this season will be particularly dangerous, stating that “no one is safe,” suggesting a difficult and potentially deadly storyline for Mike and the other characters. The release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
