Taylor Momsen is rushed to the hospital after suffering venomous spider bite in Mexico

Taylor Momsen is recovering from a venomous spider bite as she tours in Mexico.

The 32-year-old, who is now a singer and actress, shared on Instagram that she was hospitalized overnight on Wednesday. She told her 2.4 million followers about the experience.

On Tuesday evening, she posted a picture of her swollen leg, explaining she was in the hospital after a spider bite. Despite this, she assured her fans she would still perform as planned in Mexico City, saying, ‘The show must go on!’

The next day, she let her fans know she’d spent the night in the hospital, expressing her gratitude to the wonderful doctors who had cared for her. ❤️❤️❤️

The photo showed Momsen lying in a hospital bed, wearing a black face mask and holding a blue ice pack to her forehead.

She posted a video showing herself being wheeled through a hospital on a stretcher, and the clip clearly showed her leg covered in red blotches.

I’m so excited to be following Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless on tour! They’re currently opening for AC/DC’s Power Up tour, which is an absolute dream come true for all of us fans. It’s incredible to see them sharing the stage with such legends.

Momsen has been in Mexico since early April, and she was originally bit almost one week ago.

It comes two years after she got a bat bite while performing on stage in Spain. 

Last Thursday, she posted a video on social media showing a doctor examining her injured leg, playfully asking, ‘When will I start feeling better?’

She shared in the caption, ‘So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…

I got bitten by a large spider recently, and the venom made me pretty sick. I actually needed a shot from the doctors in Mexico right before last night’s show! Just another thing to add to the list of crazy things that have happened… maybe I should be Spider-Woman or Batgirl!

Okay, so I shared a post the other day, and someone commented about how I’d already dealt with a bat and now a spider had shown up! Honestly, my response was just… well, let’s just say I expressed my surprise with a ‘W.T.F.’ It’s been that kind of week, you know?

Momsen is performing in Mexico City on Wednesday night and will then take a break before resuming her tour in June.

She became well-known for her role as Jenny Humphrey, the naive and easily influenced younger sister of Dan Humphrey, played by Penn Badgley.

In an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast last year, she revealed that starring in the teen drama had been very difficult for her before she decided to leave the show.

She was written out of the show after the fourth season as she began pursuing music full time. 

The singer, known for her song ‘Just Tonight,’ described the first season as chaotic. She realized she wanted to quit the show around the beginning of the second season.

She told host Alex Cooper that changing direction was difficult because she was bound by a contract.

She eventually discovered a way to leave the show. She spoke with the writers, and they agreed to remove her character from the storyline.
