A child’s crying can be heard in the background. Paul later pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault, while other charges were dismissed.

The situation became even more complicated last week when reports emerged of another disagreement between Paul and Mortensen in late February. The Draper City Police Department in Utah has confirmed they are currently investigating. As part of this investigation, Paul has temporarily lost custody of her two-year-old son, Ever, who she shares with Mortensen.

Just a few months after stars Tran and Ellis finished their seasons, more changes came to the show. Executive producers Claire Freeland and Bennett Graebner announced they were leaving. They had taken over in 2023 after the show’s creator, Mike Fleiss, left following accusations of racial discrimination. Fleiss maintained his innocence.

As a big fan of the show, I was really disappointed to hear about the issues with how they handled the situations involving Tran and Ellis. Apparently, despite Freeland and Graebner saying they wanted more diversity, they ended up getting a lot of criticism for those incidents. They’ve strongly denied those claims, but it’s all pretty concerning.

Lindsay played a central role during a particularly controversial period of the show when Matt James became the first Black Bachelor. James’ season was derailed by public outrage over photos of contestant Rachael Kirkconnell attending a party with a theme rooted in the history of the antebellum South. Chris Harrison, the show’s host at the time, defended Kirkconnell during a heated discussion with Lindsay, who was then working as a correspondent for “Extra.” This led to Harrison’s departure from the franchise after almost two decades.

Lindsay was upset by what happened and publicly criticized the show’s producers and its fans, whom she labeled as racist – referring to them as the “Bachelor Klan” – before announcing her departure from the show.
