Taylor Frankie Paul breaks silence after Bachelorette cancellation amid domestic violence scandal

Taylor Frankie Paul has spoken out for the first time since her appearance on ‘The Bachelorette’ was cancelled following accusations of domestic violence.

Taylor is thankful for the support she’s receiving from ABC as she focuses on keeping her family safe. According to her representative, after enduring years of severe mental and physical abuse and fearing further threats, Taylor is now finding the courage to confront her abuser and take action to protect herself and her children.

As someone who’s spent years helping people navigate relationships, I see far too many women struggling in secret. They’re dealing with ex-partners who are controlling, intensely jealous, and simply won’t accept that the relationship is over – it’s heartbreaking, and they deserve so much better. It’s crucial to remember you’re not alone and there’s support available if you’re in this situation.

I just know Taylor’s been hurting so badly, staying quiet because she’s terrified of what they’ll do to her if she speaks up – more attacks, more humiliation. It breaks my heart! But I also feel like she’s gathering her strength, figuring out what she can do, and getting the support she deserves. I have a feeling she’s getting ready to finally tell her side of everything, and I’m so proud of her for even considering it.

The cancellation happened shortly after TMZ released a video showing the reality TV star seemingly involved in a physical altercation with her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, in 2023.

I’ve watched that video so many times, it’s horrifying. It clearly shows Paul just relentlessly going after Mortensen. Honestly, it was awful, but it was also the key piece of evidence that finally made her admit what she did – she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 2023. I couldn’t believe it when I first saw it, and it was so important in getting justice.

Paul and Mortensen are now facing another investigation over allegations of domestic assault.

The 31-year-old’s season of The Bachelorette was scheduled to begin on Sunday.

Following the recent release of a video, Disney Entertainment has decided to postpone the new season of The Bachelorette. Their priority right now is providing support to the affected family.

The video shows her angrily throwing a stool at Mortensen while her eight-year-old daughter, Indy, was nearby.

Mortensen, who was filming the incident, said in the clip: ‘This is called physical abuse.’

Amidst the ongoing fight between Mortensen and Paul, a child’s cries could be heard. Mortensen then announced that their daughter had been struck in the head by a metal chair.

Together, they have a son named Ever, who is two years old.

In 2023, Paul, a mother of three children, was arrested following a reported case of domestic violence. She later admitted guilt to a charge of third-degree aggravated assault.

Following the reappearance of the video, Paul’s spokesperson stated to the Daily Mail that it was disappointing to witness what they described as Viggo Mortensen’s continuing and harmful efforts to damage Taylor’s reputation, with no consideration for the impact on their child.

Sharing an old video without providing the full story, especially on their son’s birthday, is a deeply inappropriate way to deflect attention from their own actions.

However, just two days before the video became public, Mortensen reportedly filed a request for a protective order in Utah. This action was based on a new incident that allegedly occurred in February, according to the source.

Mortensen stated that a disagreement with Paul escalated into a physical fight, and that Paul reportedly choked him.

He claimed she grabbed his neck, and he had to pull her hands away. After that, she pushed him into a window and then hit him.

According to TMZ, Mortensen described the scene as ‘chaotic’ and ‘frightening,’ explaining that their son was woken up by Paul screaming and yelling.

In the petition, Mortensen also referenced Paul’s previous 2023 arrest for assault.

In his court documents, he’s asked for temporary custody of Ever and requested that Paul not be allowed to drink alcohol or use drugs while Ever is in his care.

On Tuesday, it was reported that filming had paused on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

As a big fan, I was really upset to hear that production has been temporarily halted. A member of the cast shared that the decision came after the recent reports about a domestic assault investigation, and they felt it was the right thing to do.

Mikayla Matthews publicly addressed the recent issues on Wednesday, responding to questions from fans on Instagram about why production was temporarily stopped.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve learned that sometimes difficult decisions need to be made as a group. The cast and I collectively decided on a course of action, really taking into account all the challenges Paul was facing legally. It was a tough time, and we felt it was important to address things together.

Honestly, it was something all of us girls talked through, and we all felt the same way. With everything going on, we just didn’t feel right about continuing to film. It just didn’t sit well with any of us, you know?
