Tavion Heights has the potential to be a star for the future
As a wrestling enthusiast with a soft spot for underdog stories and a keen eye for potential superstars, I can’t help but be captivated by Tavion Heights. His journey is nothing short of extraordinary – from being hailed as the “face” of American Greco-Roman Wrestling to shocking everyone with his sudden retirement and subsequent signing with WWE.
WWE has changed its approach for talent acquisition, moving away from signing established independent figures towards recruiting former college and professional athletes instead. This transition has had varied outcomes; some like Lola Vice and Oba Femi have shone brightly, while others such as Gable Steveson haven’t quite lived up to expectations. However, there’s a newcomer, Tavion Heights, who is garnering attention not just from US fans but also internationally. Many are intrigued by his potential, as he seems destined for stardom in the future.
At twenty-seven years old, Hancock has recently left many people astonished. However, it’s no secret that Hancock often shocks everyone. In the year 2022, he unexpectedly decided to leave Greco-Roman Wrestling. This was an unusual move considering he was widely recognized as the symbol of American wrestling in that particular discipline. He chose to step away from the sport after making the US World team and having the opportunity to compete in his second Summer Olympics.
As a passionate fan, I joined the WWE family not long ago, and by December, I found myself shining on NXT LVL Up. Ever since then, I’ve been on an exciting journey, and my stint in Japan is just another testament to that. From August onwards, I’ve been soaking up new experiences with NOAH, delivering some unforgettable matches. These memorable moments keep popping up on social media, capturing more attention each time they appear. These valuable encounters will undoubtedly benefit me in the long run. Not only am I gaining precious experience with WWE, but I’m also winning over fans in a different country who I hope will stick with me throughout my journey ahead.
Today at NOAH Japan, Tavion executed an impressive Over-the-Head Belly-to-Belly Suplex followed by a Kip Up on a 265-pound opponent named Inamura.

Looking forward to observing what role Heights assumes when he officially re-joins WWE NXT full-time. It appears his separation from the No-Quarter Catch Crew may happen soon, opening up opportunities for numerous matches. After this shift, it’s plausible that he might find himself in the mid-card segment. Whatever path is chosen initially, there’s immense potential for where Heights could progress. Shawn Michaels is doing a fantastic job nurturing upcoming talent, particularly talents of color, within that brand. Heights is proving his worth by demonstrating the skills necessary to become another name on that list of promising talents.
The WWE NXT platform is indeed emerging as a hub for upcoming talent, with new stars shining brightly. Although they might lack the independent wrestling background of some performers, the strategy being employed in Florida by WWE is clearly effective. Tavion Heights seems to be another promising example of this trend, rapidly growing into a talent worth keeping an eye on in the near future.
