Tate McRae’s SHOCKING Response to Republican Rumors!
Normally, when a popular musician unveils fresh tunes, their supporters show great excitement. However, when Tate McRae, aged 21, debuted her new track “What I Want” last Friday, the response was notably negative and surprisingly political.
The overwhelming hatred wasn’t primarily about the song itself. Rather, it seemed that the fury was directed towards the person McRae worked with – the well-known country music artist, Morgan Wallen, aged 32.
Thousands of McRae’s fans were left so angry that they flooded social media with their criticisms.
‘Collaborating with this piece of garbage is definitely a choice!’ one wrote.
Another person found it amusing to say that Morgan Wallen’s success alone could never stop being humorous compared to Tate McRae’s career progression.
‘NOOOO THE TATE MCRAE AND MORGAN WALLEN COLLAB IS REAL’ pretty much says it all.

It’s clear that Wallen is a contentious individual, moving from one controversy to another, including arrests, scandals, and on-air faux pas, yet, as reported by those close to McRae, the rising talent appears unbothered by it all.
As a loyal friend, I wholeheartedly support Morgan, not just because I appreciate him, but because we share a bond of friendship. And in my pursuit of living positively, this unwavering support is a natural extension of who I am. This is simply how things stand between us, as revealed to the Daily Mail by those close to me, McRae insiders.
Tate takes great pride in the song she sang, and she’s delighted that she got to perform with one of the top country artists globally.
It seems that Wallen’s acclaim, given his 14 wins at the Billboard Music Awards, a single Academy of Country Music Award, and being honored as the 2024 Entertainer of the Year by the Country Music Association, justifies the effort put into achieving it.
But there’s certainly plenty of it.
In May 2020, Wallen was removed from Kid Rock’s large country-rock bar and grill in Nashville (Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse) and taken into custody due to being drunk in public and causing disturbances.
That case was dismissed.
Originating from Tennessee, the individual found himself back in the news again merely five months later due to his Saturday Night Live musical appearance invitation being unexpectedly revoked. This occurred following footage emerging of him disregarding federal Covid guidelines by attending an unmasked, crowded party in Alabama without a face mask.
In less affected areas during the final stages of the pandemic, such actions might have been overlooked. However, they sparked a rebellion among staff in liberal, lockdown-imposed New York City, ultimately leading to a postponement of Wallen’s scheduled appearance.
In February 2021, yet another scandal involving the singer arose as a video emerged showing him using a racial slur while intoxicated outside his residence in Nashville.
His label put him on a temporary hiatus, his tunes were pulled off airwaves nationwide by various radio stations, and he faced criticism from fellow musicians.
Wallen explained and attempted to downplay the situation on Good Morning America by saying, “It happened among friends, and sometimes we joke around in a carefree manner. Although it may seem insensitive, that’s actually how it originated.
McRae’s fans haven’t found those explanations satisfactory, instead, they’ve been labeling her ‘McRaeRacist’ on social media. On the other hand, Wallen’s popularity has continued to grow since then.

He renewed his contract with Big Loud Records, and in April, a significant portion of his master recordings was bought for more than $200 million, despite ongoing controversies that seem to tarnish his image.
In December, Wallen admitted to two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment due to his actions of tossing a chair from the top of a six-story bar in Nashville. This year, another controversy ensued in March when he abruptly left the SNL stage at the end of the show, disregarding the usual tradition of cast and crew mixing during the rolling of credits.
A member of SNL’s team reportedly claimed that Wallen displayed a lack of respect, with some attributing this behavior to his political leanings associated with the “Make America Great Again” movement.
According to an SNL insider, though Morgan didn’t explicitly discuss it, he openly displays his political leanings with pride. He didn’t express approval for Trump directly, but it’s common knowledge among people that he aligns with the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement.
Perhaps, then, it is Wallen’s perceived politics that have irked the McRae fans the most.
Her supporters, a large number of whom are young and progressive-leaning, are currently debating if she might be covertly affiliated with the Republican party.
In a discussion on X, it was pointed out that followers of Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae typically don’t overlap. Morgan Wallen gained popularity due to support from a rural audience following his controversial use of racial slurs, whereas Tate McRae’s fans are primarily young women and members of the LGBTQ+ community who prioritize social justice issues, making them more likely to be critical of her.
Another person created an imitation image, depicting McRae attending the Met Gala dressed in a red gown and bearing the words ‘MAGA’ on it, as a satirical representation.
McRae, though, is standing firm.
Our source commented that it’s understandable she doesn’t desire association with controversy since nobody does. Despite facing backlash from both supporters and critics over her collaboration with him, she resolutely chooses not to succumb to negativity.

The source mentioned that although McRae acknowledges Wallen’s errors, she considers them insignificant in relation to his musical talent.
‘Morgan may have acted foolishly in the past and could potentially do so again. However, whatever choices he makes now are his own responsibility, as Tate was there for the music, enjoyed their collaboration immensely, and is choosing to focus on the positive experiences and moving forward.’
Tate maintains that her genuine supporters will recognize the sincerity behind her actions in creating this song, and emphasized that collaborating with him is an incredibly significant milestone for her career.
It seems that McRae is capable of distinguishing between the artist and their music, but her audience finds this distinction more challenging.
