Tate McRae reveals she was involved in a terrifying jet ski accident while on holiday with her boyfriend The Kid Laroi

As an ardent fan of Tate McRae and The Kid Laroi, I must say their lives are nothing short of thrilling! From nearly getting eaten by a whale during a jet ski accident to performing together on some of the biggest stages, their adventures just keep getting more exhilarating.

Tate McRae has disclosed that she had a frightening jet ski incident with her partner The Kid Laroi.

During their summer vacation, the 21-year-old singer and her 21-year-old companion found themselves in a harrowing situation where they narrowly escaped being swallowed by a whale.

Tate revealed the story on Capital Radio on Thursday as she chatted to host Jimmy Hill.

During the interview, Jimmy inquired about an incident that occurred during the summer involving a jet ski accident with her partner, The Kid Laroi, which seemed rather frightening.

It sounds like you had quite the close encounter with a whale, almost being swallowed! So, have you taken away all his driving privileges because of this incident? Does it seem like he’s become more of a risk rather than an asset?

Tate then replied saying: ‘Well, now I do. I didn’t realise what I was getting myself into! 

Even though you wholeheartedly trust your boyfriend, it seems like jet skis give you quite a headache because they tend to tip over all too frequently.

Jimmy then asked: ‘So, you’re on it together, he flips it, was the whale right by you?’

Later on, Tate described the situation as follows: “It was approximately ten feet from us. This was undoubtedly the most thrilling moment of our journey. I exclaimed, ‘We almost just crashed into a whale’s maw!’

‘That’s so freaky to me, the ocean is just a really freaky thing to me, you’re just in there and it’s black and your toes are dangling and that’s so weird. 

I had a moment where it felt like we were submerged, and you seemed to be shivering from the cold at the soles of your feet, exclaiming something along the lines of “We might not make it out of here!

Jimmy then quipped: ‘You could just get eaten by a whale, what a way to go!’

Following the disclosure by Canadian star Tate, we learned about her relationship with Australian artist The Kid Laroi.

The global hitmakers are both in Australia right now on their respective world tours.

Speaking to KIIS Network’s Will & Woody on Monday, Tate shared details about her blossoming relationship with the Aussie superstar.

The radio hosts asked the Greedy singer what it felt like to perform music with her boyfriend.

She stated that it was clear he felt anxious, for instance, when she mentioned ‘Laroi’. Upon hearing the name, his complexion paled significantly, as if he had encountered a spirit, she explained.

Tate has been on her Think Later tour, named after her sophmore album, for most of the year. 

At the packed show at New York’s Madison Square Garden in August, Tate invited The Kid Laroi on stage to do a simplified version of his hit “Without You” together, making their performance even more memorable at the legendary venue.

Tate remarked, “He has graced the grandest platforms and shared the spotlight with some eccentric individuals. When he stepped onto my stage, it seemed as though he was on the verge of tears.

‘I’m very routine with my shows,’ the pop star said. ‘If I’m choosing to sit down, I sit down.

‘He’s very like – whatever. He’s a rapper. So he walks around.’ 

Partway through the show, the artist who sings “You Broke Me First” expressed surprise when The Kid Laroi unexpectedly ad-libbed on stage.

‘He grabs my hand and he picks me up,’ Tate continued. 

She clarified her thoughts at that instant: “Aren’t we supposed to rehearse this? So, don’t lift me up right now.

‘Like I’m sitting here like trying to do my job and I’m like, “oh my god”, and so it was funny.’

At last, he delves into an extended speech. He says, ‘I’m really proud of you,’ followed by more words. Then, there’s a pause that made me think he had finished talking.

‘And I’m like, “give it up for the Kid Laroi!” I totally cut him off.’

For several months, there had been rumors about whether the musical pair were romantically involved. This year, at one of his concerts, The Kid Laroi confirmed their relationship with the Canadian celebrity.

He confirmed the relationship to fans during a concert in Ireland on April 14. 

The moment came between songs while Laroi was on stage. 

He told the crowd at the 3Arena in Dublin: ‘I need everybody in here to sing this as loud as they can because my girlfriend’s here tonight, and I don’t want to look lame.’ 

Fan cameras then panned to stage left, and showed Tate giggling while she was watching the show. 

‘If you guys don’t sing this really loud…’ the Sydney star added, ‘It’s going to embarrass me.’
