Tate McRae brought a heatwave to this year’s MTV VMAs.
The singer added a dash of spiciness to the awards ceremony, with her sultry renditions of “Revolving Door” and “Sports Car”.
Surrounded by male backup dancers who looked like Greek deities, the 22-year-old Tate captivated the audience with her performance. She wore a revealing white crop top and tight shorts for the show, which quickly heated up.
She playfully gyrated around a large sandpit, accompanied by her supporting artists who wore mostly swimsuits with a sparkle, mirroring her movements.
Tate, adorned in a semi-transparent gown, confidently glided across the stage with an effortless grace.
She concluded her act down on the floor, moving her body seductively as fire burst around her in the backdrop.

The show was met with enthusiasm by both in-person attendees and viewers at home, as they cheered loudly, creating a sound reminiscent of thunder echoing throughout the background.
Tate was met with an incredible outpouring of praise for her act, and many spectators have already dubbed her as a potential new Britney Spears, a title she’s been associated with before.
A supporter of Tate McRae couldn’t contain their excitement: ‘Tate McRae was incredibly captivating during the performance, and I adored it immensely!’
Tate was one of the big names winning an award tonight.
She earned two nominations for the Song of the Summer category, eventually securing the win for her song Just Keep Watching. Notably, her collaboration with Morgan Wallen, What I Want, was also up for the same recognition.
In addition to being nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Artist, Best Editing, and Best Visual Effects awards, McRae unfortunately did not win any of these categories either.

At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, things got off to an impressive start when Lady Gaga was awarded the first “Moon Person” statuette of the evening.
In a surprise turn of events, the 39-year-old artist clinched the top prize, outperforming music sensation Taylor Swift in the highly esteemed Artist of the Year category during the glamorous awards ceremony on Sunday evening.
Apart from Taylor, she successfully outshone a remarkable roster of some of the most prominent names in the music industry, which included Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, and The Weeknd.
During her acceptance speech, the artist from Mayhem openly discussed the significance of receiving the award, and shared her personal insights on what it feels like to be an artist.
She mentioned: “I pondered over the concept of being compensated for being an artist, being paid for something that is inherently fulfilling. Being an artist is a means to bridge the spirits of individuals worldwide.
‘Working as an artist involves a dedication, a skillset that delves deep into people’s emotions, cultivating connections that resonate with them and stir their dreams. As an artist, it is a duty to evoke feelings – joy, sadness, any emotion – from the audience at every opportunity. It’s about fostering empathy and celebrating our shared experiences within society.’

Additionally, GaGa underscored the significance of art in everyone’s life and encouraged her fans to rely on their own abilities and talents.
I couldn’t help but express my heartfelt gratitude to my devoted supporters, whom I fondly refer to as the “Little Monsters,” before extending my thanks to my partner, Michael Polansky.
In conclusion, Gaga dedicated her award to everyone in the audience, expressing that each one of them truly deserves their own moment in the spotlight. She offers them all her heartfelt applause.
As a devoted admirer, my dearest little monsters, I must express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and acceptance of the monster within me. Together, we’ve created magic this year, and it’s been nothing short of an enchanting dream to partner with you in every endeavor.
To say that you’ve been a constant companion would be an understatement; you’ve truly been my partner throughout each step of this journey. This dedication is for you, my cherished ones. I’d give anything to remain and soak up the glory of these performances with you, but alas, I must return to Madison Square Garden.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and until we meet again!
