Taskmaster’s Kiell Smith-Bynoe announces exciting new show with “all-star cast of comedians”
Kiell Smith-Bynoe has announced an exciting new show with an “all-star cast of comedians“.
The famous comedian known as the “Taskmaster” and the star of “Ghosts” will be embarking on a tour with his off-the-cuff comedy show titled “Kool Story Bro.” This show has already been a hit at sold-out performances in London, Brighton, and Edinburgh.
In simple terms, “Kool Story Bro” features Kiell and a diverse group of performers who create spontaneous comedic skits based on tales shared by the audience.
The lineup features a variety of notable performers, such as Emma Sidi from Taskmaster, Robert Gilbert known for Big Boys, Emily Lloyd-Saini hailing from Mock The Week, Anna Leong Brophy who has worked on Shadow and Bone, and Lola-Rose Maxwell and Nic Sampson from Starstruck. Additional cast members will be revealed later on.
In addition to the regular hosts, each episode will feature a notable guest co-host. Notable past guest hosts have included Lily Allen, Jamie Demetriou, Mo Gilligan, Charlotte Ritchie, Mathew Baynton, Rose Matafeo, Julie Adenuga, Guz Khan, and Munya Chawawa.
The “Kool Story Bro” tour begins at Bristol’s Old Vic on April 10, then proceeds to various theaters across the United Kingdom, concluding at the Soho Theatre in Walthamstow, London on May 22.
Starting at 10am on February 6, you have the opportunity to purchase tour tickets before they go on general sale! To gain early access, simply sign up here. The general ticket sale will commence at 10am on February 7.
Kiell mentioned that he’s been promoting the phrase, “Let’s Make Improvisation Cool Again,” but people seem to find it not catchy enough.
I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for embarking on a national tour with “Kool Story Bro“! This journey promises to be extraordinary as we animate the audience’s tales, accompanied by the crème de la crème of global improvisers and some celebrated special guest hosts from the realm of television. It’s all systems go, so let’s make it happen!
Taskmaster series 19 is coming soon to Channel 4.
