Taskmaster’s Alex Horne teases “big name” in series first

As a seasoned gamer and comedy enthusiast, I’ve been hooked on “Taskmaster” for quite some time now. With each new season, I eagerly anticipate who will be gracing our screens next, and the latest tease from Alex Horne about a big international name has me all excited!

Taskmaster star Alex Horne has teased a “big name” set to appear on season 19 of the show.

The comedy show is now preparing for its eighteenth season, as Babatunde Aléshé, Rosie Jones, Andy Zaltzman, Emma Sidi, and Jack Dee are all ready to join the cast.

Although it hasn’t been officially announced who will star in the upcoming season, Horne hinted that a well-known celebrity from another country is involved.

On the delightful Sunday Brunch, I found myself pondering this question: do I sometimes fret about running short on comedic talents to involve? But let’s not forget the endless stream of hilarious individuals just waiting for their moment to shine!

He acknowledged that it’s unlikely we’ll continue in this way. Eventually, comedy legends like Dara Ó Briain and Frank Skinner will retire, but fresh talent is constantly emerging.

Later on, he playfully hinted, “In the upcoming series, Series 19, we have an individual joining us, hailing from another country and well-known worldwide. This is something new for us. Therefore, there are always fresh paths to explore.”

Later, Horne playfully said, “I’m planning to connect with the Americans! Are you going to connect with the Americans too?”

As I chatted with Tim Lovejoy, I hinted that he might not recognize the enigmatic figure I was referring to. I leaned in close and whispered, “You might know this mystery person, or maybe it’s more than one… Or perhaps it’s a ‘her,’ too!”

In the most recent run of the captivating series I’ve been following, it was none other than John Robins who emerged victorious. He outshone a formidable lineup that included Sophie Willan, Nick Mohammed, Joanne McNally, and Steve Pemberton to claim the coveted crown.

After his victory, John shared details of his celebration during an episode of the “Elis and John” podcast, admitting, “I indulged in three curries, a decision I’m now deeply regretting.”

He further said of his time on the show: “I laughed a lot and smiled a lot.”

Speaking of updates on “Taskmaster”, the program has unveiled a fresh Virtual Reality game lately. This game lets enthusiasts perform amusing tasks just like on the show, and even invent their own tasks too!

On Thursdays at 9pm, you can catch Taskmaster on Channel 4, a channel where you can also stream past seasons.
