Taskmaster viewers delighted over Rosie Jones’ poo puppet
As a longtime Taskmaster enthusiast with a soft spot for the quirky and the absurd, I must say that Thursday’s episode was a delightful rollercoaster ride of hilarity! The puppet task, in particular, left me chuckling from start to finish.
Taskmaster spoilers follow.
Audience members of Taskmaster enthusiastically enjoyed the moment when co-host Alex Horne planted a kiss on Rosie Jones‘ unconventional puppet, leaving them highly amused.
On October 17th, I tuned in to Channel 4 for the latest installment of the show we all love, where Jones, Jack Dee, Emma Sidi, Andy Zaltzman, and Babatunde Aléshé gathered once again. This time, they faced another round of challenges devised by Horne and Greg Davies. It was an evening filled with laughter and competition!
The team was given a task to design a “charming” puppet for a kid’s TV program. However, it appeared that they paid little heed to the instructions since the material they were creating seemed more appropriate for adults.
In a playful and charming manner, Jones’ stuffed toy named Mr. Poo, who had googly eyes like a pillow, asked Horne for a kiss on the lips. As expected, Horne happily complied. However, it wasn’t as romantic as it appeared since Mr. Poo was covered in a brown substance. Horne maintained a brave demeanor throughout the interaction.
The clip drew the ire of Sidi after Horne refused to kiss her banana puppet, with the comedian quipping: “I’m sorry Alex, and I’m sorry Rosie – but you kissed a shit? [All] after you wouldn’t kiss banana boy.”
The segment also drew a response from fans of the show on social media, with one writing on X/Twitter: “A demon that tells children that they can’t eat ice cream in hell. Banana boy dies after failing to kiss Alex. A Brixton otter that wants you sell drugs. And a poo. #Taskmaster”
One enthusiastic viewer expressed their sentiment by saying, “I apologize for my initial thought, but I found Mr. Poo to be quite engaging #taskmaster.” Another fan similarly developed a fondness for Mr. Poo, implying: “Little Alex and Mr. Poo are the highlights of this series so far #Taskmaster #smile
As a thrilled admirer, I enthusiastically echo that thought: “We truly need more episodes of Little Alex and Mr Poo in the role of Taskmaster!” However, another fan wasn’t quite as smitten, instead voicing their unique take: “Ooh, the squishy sounds from Mr Poo are making it feel so real for me #Taskmaster
The show called “Taskmaster” is broadcasted and streamed every Thursday at 9pm on Channel 4. It’s also worth mentioning that a spinoff version, titled “Junior Taskmaster,” has officially been announced.
