Netflix recently revealed a fresh trailer for the forthcoming suspenseful series titled “Wayward“, which features Mae Martin, a victor from “Taskmaster“.
In the trailer displayed above, we find Officer Alex Dempsey, played by Martin, delving into a string of peculiar occurrences happening within the quaint town of Tall Pines.
The events appear to revolve around Evelyn Wade, portrayed by Toni Collette, who serves as the principal of a secretive teen institution aimed at addressing the challenges of adolescence. Upon encountering two students eager to flee, the inexperienced police officer senses that there’s something amiss about this location.

In this production, Martin works together with Ryan Scott as co-showrunners. They are accompanied by a talented ensemble featuring Toni Collette, Brandon Jay McLaren, Sarah Gadon, and Patrick J Adams.
Martin referred to ‘Wayward’ as a “wild, exhilarating roller coaster,” stating it was “quite unlike anything” they had previously produced during their professional journey with Tudum.
Martin clarified that the purpose of the show was to evoke the sensation of being a teenager. He frequently discusses or creates characters going through their teenage years, as that period was particularly intense for him.
For years, I’ve yearned to explore more intimately the emotions and experiences of adolescence. As a rebellious teenager in the early 2000s, my closest friend was admitted to one of these troubled teen facilities… Upon her return, she shared some truly outrageous tales about her time there.
After the debut of “Wayward”, Netflix plans to premiere two additional crime-themed series in early October: the third installment of “Monster” and Keira Knightley’s “The Woman in Cabin 10”.
Titled “The Original Monster“, this upcoming season of the anthology series centers around the heinous crimes carried out by notorious serial killer Ed Gein, portrayed by Charlie Hunnam, in the state of Wisconsin during the 1950s.

Originates from the book of the same name by Ruth Ware, this story unfolds as a journalist embarks on a voyage aboard a lavish yacht, unknowingly stepping into a thrilling chase where danger lurks.
Wayward will premiere on Netflix on 25 September.
