Taskmaster star announces new Channel 4 show

As a self-proclaimed comedy connoisseur with years of binge-watching under my belt, I can confidently say that Sam Campbell’s latest creation, “Make That Movie,” is set to be a riot! Having witnessed his hilarious antics on Taskmaster and his podcast with Lucy Beaumont, I can’t wait to see him in action again.

Taskmaster champion Sam Campbell has announced a brand new Channel 4 comedy series.

The winner of the 16th season of the Australian comedy show has launched a new series titled “Make That Movie.”

The story revolves around a character who assumes the role of a director. His mission is to journey across the nation, seeking ordinary individuals with creative concepts for a full-length movie. Alongside his crew, he strives tirelessly to convert these ideas into a film within a challenging timeframe of only three days.

“Campbell compared the project to TV programs that transform gardens,” is a possible paraphrase that retains the original meaning while sounding more natural and easy to read.

“But this is about something people genuinely care about – movie magic,” he continued. “Let’s be honest with ourselves, a garden has never grossed over a billion dollars at the box office….”

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to express that Charlie Perkins, the head honcho at Channel 4’s comedy division, stated that Sam truly embodies the vibrancy, originality, and groundbreaking spirit that Channel 4 comedy is all about.

“He has an undeniable, completely unique and enormous comedy brain and is generous and tenacious in his artistry – the perfect figurehead for this new-era comedy gang-show. This is going to be fun.”

Last year, Campbell emerged victorious on ‘Taskmaster’, outperforming other renowned personalities such as Lucy Beaumont, Julian Clary, Sue Perkins, and Susan Wokoma to claim the title.

Since the show, he has started a podcast with Beaumont called Lucy & Sam’s Perfect Brains.

As I eagerly await the upcoming season of Taskmaster, I’m thrilled to know that Babatunde Aléshé, Rosie Jones, Andy Zaltzman, Emma Sidi, and none other than Jack Dee will be squaring off against each other!

The Taskmaster show is broadcast and streamed on Channel 4, where you can also catch up with past seasons online.
