Taskmaster series 19 casts Ghosts and Strictly stars

Taskmaster has revealed the celebrities participating in Series 19, featuring talents from “Ghosts,” “The Good Place,” and a previous “Strictly” competitor.

In the tradition set by his “Ghosts” co-stars Charlotte Ritchie, Lolly Adefope, and Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Mathew Baynton is among five comedians aiming to win over judges Greg Davies and Alex Horne in the upcoming series.

Apart from his character as the melodramatic Regency-era poet Thomas Thorne in the show Ghosts, Matthew has also made appearances on various TV programs such as Horrible Histories, Yonderland, The Split, and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.

In addition, he assumed the role of the villainous chocolatier Felix Fickelgruber in the 2023 film “Wonka”, a production jointly penned by his writing partners Simon Farnaby from projects like “Ghosts” and “Horrible Histories”.

More recently, Mathew took on the role of Bottom in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Barbican Theatre in London, a part that marked his initial performance with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

TV presenter and podcaster Rosie Ramsey has also signed up for Taskmaster‘s new series.

Rosie and her husband Chris Ramsey, who came in second on “Taskmaster” season 13, co-host the popular podcast “Shagged Married Annoyed“. In addition to this, they have also collaborated on two talk shows for the BBC together.

In the 2022 Christmas special of “Strictly Come Dancing,” Rosie and her professional dance partner, Neil Jones, ended up in a tie for second place on the judges’ scoreboard.

Apart from that, she has graced Michael McIntyre’s game show, “The Wheel,” and was a member of the squad responsible for hosting the 2024 version of Comic Relief.

Taskmaster is happy to announce that Jason Mantzoukas has joined us for our 19th series. He boasts an impressive TV resume, with roles in shows like The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Star Trek: Prodigy.

Besides being a co-host on the “How Did This Get Made?” podcast, Mantzoukas has also shared his admiration for the show “Taskmaster,” commending its unique approach in inspiring comedians to tackle challenges creatively, rather than focusing solely on finding the most accurate solutions.

Previously, Horne hinted that a well-known figure from abroad might show up on season 19 of “Taskmaster,” and it turned out that Mantzoukas was among the numerous American celebrities who were speculated about before the official announcement.

Fatiha El-Ghorri and Stevie Martin complete the lineup for Taskmaster‘s next series.

As reported by Hyphen, El-Ghorri embarked on her stand-up comedy journey about a decade past, inspired by completing a 12-week program focusing on comedy scripting and stage presentation, which she undertook after her second marriage ended.

Her recent acting credits include guest appearances on Mr Bigstuff and We Are Lady Parts.

In addition, El-Ghorri was a participant in the second season of the humorous competition program titled “Outsiders,” which featured comedians like Phil Wang and Joe Wilkinson who had previously been on “Taskmaster.

Among Martin’s performance credits are “Starstruck” and “The Breeders.” Most recently, she brought her newest stand-up act, titled “Clout,” to Edinburgh.

Martin currently presents BBC Radio 4’s interactive talk show titled “DMs Are Open“, and she has recently announced that they are accepting submissions for a brand new season. In addition, she collaborates with Tessa Coates on the podcast known as “Nobody Panic“.

Previously, she collaborated with her activist sister on a podcast named “Might Delete Later.

Taskmaster series 19 is coming soon to Channel 4.
