Taskmaster favourites Munya Chawawa and Judi Love join cast of new comedy series

Fan-favorite comedians Munya Chawawa and Judi Love have been chosen for a fresh comedy series airing on Channel 4.

As a dedicated fan, I found myself captivated by the six-part series “Schooled,” starring Shiloh Coke from “Cheaters.” In this show, I’m proud to say I embody Kayleigh Clarke, a woman with no prior teaching experience and, let’s be honest, an extremely limited supply of patience. But in the face of my new role as Head of Year 10, I’m ready to take on the challenge and make a difference!

Schooled offers a humorous tribute to educators and school personnel, focusing on the character Kayleigh as she tackles various challenges, such as school inspections by Ofsted, artificial intelligence-related scandals, and chaotic Parent-Teacher meetings.

In spite of facing challenges such as limited resources, overworked personnel, and demanding students, Kayleigh remains resolute in leveraging her lack of formal qualifications to her advantage. By forming unexpected connections and realizing that compassion (perhaps supplemented by some incentives) often proves most effective, she navigates these difficulties effectively.

Chawawa plays the character ‘T’, while Love has been cast as Anita.

In addition to the main cast of “Schooled”, Michelle De Swarte from “The Baby” takes on the role of Naomi, Charithra Chandran from “Bridgerton” portrays Lara, Alex Bhat from “Gentleman Jack” plays Mr Waites, and Elliot Barnes-Worrell, known for his work in “Ready Player One”, appears as Micah.

The filming of the TV series, drawn from creator Delia-René Donaldson’s authentic life events, is being carried out at present.

Afolabi Kuti, the Executive Producer at Broedmachine, expressed his excitement about collaborating with an incredibly humorous and highly skilled ensemble of actors.

Watching their collaboration unfold brings immense pleasure. This delightful outcome reflects Delia’s exceptional writing skills and the remarkable teamwork exhibited in the casting process.

Schooled does not currently have a release date, but will be coming to Channel 4.
