Taskmaster confirms new series launch date and it’s earlier than expected
As a seasoned Taskmaster enthusiast who’s been following this hilarious competition since its humble beginnings, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Season 18! With the lineup of comedians such as Rosie Jones, Jack Dee, Andy Zaltzman, Babatunde Aléshé, Emma Sidi, and the ever-entertaining duo of Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne, it’s bound to be a rollercoaster ride of laughter and unparalleled silliness.
Taskmaster has confirmed when the next season will debut – and fans won’t have too long to wait.
In the forthcoming shows, comedians Rosie Jones, Jack Dee, Andy Zaltzman, Babatunde Aléshé, and Emma Sidi will face off in a friendly competition to win over Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne.
Season 18 is set to kick off a week earlier than usual, debuting on Thursday, the 12th of September, at 9 PM, on Channel 4.
The upcoming month, starting October 2, will see the live version of the show titled “Taskmaster: A Real-Life Challenge” going live. This event offers fans a chance to participate in a variety of amusing tasks. Tickets for this exciting event are now available for purchase.
The schedule for the upcoming season was revealed in May after the culmination of Season 17, where John Robins emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, discussions have started about Season 19, as Horne hinted at the possibility of a famous figure making an appearance on the program.
On the talk show “Sunday Brunch“, the celebrity was inquired if they ever had concerns about exhausting the pool of comedians for the program “Taskmaster“.
He replied, “I’m not convinced that we will have more of those type of comedians, like Dara Ó Briain or Frank Skinner. However, fresh talent is constantly emerging.”
In the upcoming Series 19, Horne shared that we have invited a well-known figure from another country, a move we haven’t made before. Yes, we are exploring new paths!
He further quipped: “I’m going to tap into the Americans! Are you going to tap into the Americans?”
Later on, Horne admitted to host Tim Lovejoy that he “may not have been familiar with” the individual. He offered to discreetly tell the contestant’s name to Lovejoy, saying, “Or hers, if it’s a woman, or theirs, if it’s more than one.”
Taskmaster is set to come back on Channel 4 this coming Thursday, September 12. You can catch it there, and if you’d like to revisit some old episodes, they are also available for streaming.
