This collection features over 750 sketches, drawings, models, and plans that showcase the development of Tadao Ando’s architecture from 1975 to today. It provides a detailed view of his most famous works, including early projects like the Row House in Sumiyoshi and later achievements like the Chichu Art Museum and the Bourse de Commerce.
This book offers a rare look into the core beliefs that shape Tadao Ando’s work: a deep consideration of what it means to be human, the importance of memory, and the lasting impact of a location. Throughout the book, Ando shares his personal thoughts – in a new introduction and thoughtful commentary – reinforcing his dedication to these themes.
