However, the notable change in the media figure is closely tied to a very private account, as she revealed the demanding physical and mental challenges she faced during a half-decade of fertility treatments.

39-year-old shares that she’s undergoing her seventh cycle of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), an arduous process that has challenged her beyond what she ever expected.

In her own words to the magazine, she explained that despite her relentless work ethic and determination to achieve her goals, overcoming infertility has proven to be incredibly challenging for her.

Tanya shared that she chose to quickly shed some pounds due to urgency, since she started IVF treatment at 34 and is now nearing 40. In other words, she felt it necessary because time was running out for her.

As a committed observer, I can say that I’m mindful of the shift in my looks causing a stir, but I find it unremarkable to encounter such public responses.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself in a unique position today. I sense a change within me, yet I recognize the curiosity that arises when I present differently. I get why people might feel compelled to share their thoughts, for I too stand out. However, understanding is my response.

Tanya shared that she gradually put on extra pounds during the peak of her career, as stress and unhealthy eating patterns became a regular part of her life.

She said she put on 50 kilograms over a couple of years as work took precedence over her health.

During the interview, both as a radio host and humorist, she resisted the excessive focus on physical attractiveness in our culture, expressing a desire to be valued more for her artistic talents instead of her physique.

She requested, “Could we avoid discussing my physical form entirely? Is it possible for me to merely be seen as a creative spirit, rather than defined by my body?

In addition, Tanya shared insights about the hidden challenges of IVF, disclosing that she’s persisted despite painful incidents like miscarriages and emotionally taxing hormone therapies that made filming difficult for her.

She mentioned that on certain occasions, she would be bleeding, weeping, and struggling to keep her composure, yet she was still required to put on a show for the camera.

Tanya made clear her motivation behind revealing her struggle with infertility, stating that she wanted others to grasp the prolonged and agonizing aspects of this experience.

Hennessy explained that her account doesn’t follow the typical, tidily wrapped up storyline many anticipate – one in which a woman reveals her hardships and suddenly becomes pregnant shortly after.

‘The issue isn’t resolved; it’s ongoing. It’s not as if Tanya mentioned her infertility struggles, and suddenly two weeks later, she was pregnant. Instead, it’s that Tanya discussed her infertility difficulties, but after five years, she’s still dealing with them. That perspective is crucial to understand.’

Hennessy has long been open about her struggles to have a baby with her partner, Thomas Poole.

In 2022, she expressed to her Instagram audience that trying to get pregnant feels like a demanding full-time occupation, and she’s feeling quite overwhelmed.

2021 saw the reality television personality becoming engaged to her long-term companion, Thomas, following six years of relationship.

They tied the knot in September last year.
