Tamzin Outhwaite, 53, declares she’s ‘off men and seeking solitude’ as she opens up on the nature of split from toyboy Tom Child, 33
As a dedicated follower and admirer of Tamzin Outhwaite‘s acting skills and resilience, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of empathy for her latest heartbreak. Her life journey seems to be a rollercoaster ride, filled with love, loss, and the unpredictability that comes with being in the public eye.
Actress Tamzin Outhwaite has shared that she is taking a break from relationships with men and cherishing solitude, following her separation from actor Tom Child.
53-year-old actress from “New Tricks” shared during a podcast episode of “Suddenly Single” that her partnership with her younger companion, aged 33, had simply run its course.
After their relationship ended, she believed it was essential for her personal growth to experience life as an unattached individual.
The actress shared with Tim Vincent and Siobhan Wykes that she had a marvelous 6.5-year journey, which she holds dear in her memories, and believes their friendship will remain constant.
‘It was the most mature, respectful and humane break up ever.’
She added: “The thought of a date sends shivers down my spine, the discomfort it entails, even if someone as charming as Brad Pitt were to ask me out, I’d politely decline.
Additionally, she mentioned that at this point in time, she prefers to concentrate on her personal well-being and doesn’t have a desire to involve anyone else in her life beyond her children.
She added: ‘I find the idea of being with the same person for the rest of my life horrifying.’
Tamzin confirmed she had split from her boyfriend Tom last month after six years together.
The former couple met at a yoga class in 2017 but broke up earlier this summer.
Tom Ellis, who plays Lucifer in the show Miranda, was the first significant romantic partner she had following her challenging divorce in 2014.
In 2006, Tom Ellis, known for his roles as Tamzin and Lucifer, tied the knot and later welcomed two kids: Florence (aged 16) and Marnie (aged 11).
The marriage apparently concluded following his admission of an extramarital relationship with Australian actress Emilie de Ravin, which occurred during their collaboration on the American television series ‘Once Upon a Time’ in 2013.
In the year 2005, Tamzin was acquainted with Tom through their mutual friend, the actor James McAvoy, who happened to share a stage with her at that time.
In 2014, they obtained a swift divorce following nine years of matrimony, which left Tamzin deeply saddened.
‘Tamzin couldn’t believe Tom’s betrayal and was distraught,’ a source told The Sun in 2016.
She eagerly anticipated him traveling to America to advance his career, with Miranda serving as a foundation, while she took care of their two daughters at home. Yet, he did not reciprocate her efforts in a positive manner.
In 2015, Tamzin mentioned to Essentials magazine, “I wouldn’t pass up being with my husband for a one-night stand; that’s as far as I’ll go.” This suggests that their separation stemmed from more than just a solitary error.
The actress expressed that she preferred not to disclose specifics about their struggles, as she was concerned it might cause distress to their children.
She added: ‘I will tell them exactly what happened and it will come from me. He’s still their dad and they still have a relationship.’
Tom has established a reputation in the U.S., portraying the character of Lucifer, the embodiment of evil, in TV dramas.
In the year 2019, he tied the knot with Meaghan Oppenheimer, a screenwriter known for creating the comedy series Queen America on Facebook Watch.
