Tammy Slaton: New Relationship with a Woman After Husband’s Death

1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has revealed she’s in new relationship with a  woman.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t wait to dive into the latest chapter of my beloved TLC series, where in the seventh season, Tammy, age 38, and her sister, Amy Slaton, share updates about their personal journeys with us fans.

Ever since I first graced the screen alongside my amazing sister Amy on “1000-lb Sisters” back in 2020, the world has taken notice of this incredible weight loss journey that’s become my life. And let me tell you, shedding a mind-blowing 500 pounds hasn’t just been a transformation for my body – it’s been a rebirth of my spirit!

In a sneak peek of the show, she opened up about her blossoming relationship, revealing that she has not shared this news with her family as of now.

Tammy confided: “I’ve kept a secret from my family. It turns out, I’m not the only one who has started seeing someone new. I have too…

‘I have been seeing someone for the past couple months and it’s going pretty well.’

Later on, she mentioned: ‘The individual I’m romantically involved with is female. Consequently, I haven’t disclosed this information to my family yet, as they may express their opinions about it.’

It seems my family may have more varied viewpoints than there are individuals in the world, given their frequent expressing of thoughts.

Tammy has entered into her first romantic relationship following the demise of her husband, Caleb Wilingham, whom she wedded in November 2022.

In a previous phase of my life, I identified as pansexual, yet since the tragic loss of Caleb, I find myself no longer desiring romantic involvement with men.

‘I don’t know how my family is going to react when I tell them I’m seeing a woman.’

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Tammy’s spouse, Caleb, passed away mysteriously at the young age of 40, mere seven months following their beautiful wedding in November 2022.

Last year Tammy opened up about the moment she found out that Caleb had passed away.

In a chat with People, Tammy shared that she learned through a text from a friend of Caleb’s that her spouse wasn’t in good health, and then was tragically informed 20 minutes afterwards that he had passed away.

In the given scenario, let me rephrase the sentence from my perspective as a lifestyle expert: While I was comfortably nestled at my residence in Kentucky, Caleb was residing at the very same rehabilitation center in Ohio where we had previously shared our recovery journey together.

‘I was sitting in the fetal position,’ she told the publication.

I received a text from his friend upstairs, saying, “Caleb isn’t well. They are currently attending to him.” About twenty minutes later, I received another message stating that he had passed away.

Additionally, the TV personality mentioned that she was managing quite well amidst the hardship, and had even crafted a pendant shaped like a ring and a musical note using the remains of her departed spouse.

She had grown attached to the jewelry and finds comfort knowing a piece of him remains with her.

‘He’s going to live on now forever because his memory is encapsulated,’ Tammy said.

As a lifestyle expert, I can personally attest to the comfort and reassurance that having a cherished item close by brings during challenging times. For me, this treasure is my necklace – an object I find myself frequently touching and holding throughout the day. When I take it off, it feels strange, almost like experiencing a sense of separation anxiety. This trinket has become such an integral part of my daily routine that its absence can trigger a subtle yet unsettling panic within me.

Whenever I feel nostalgic for Caleb, I can revisit his show as a source of joy, reminding myself of what brought me happiness once more.

The season premiere of 1000-Lb. Sisters airs Tuesday April 15 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC.
