The lead singer of Talking Heads, David Byrne, announced that he is set to marry his younger partner, Mala Gaonkar.
For approximately ten years now, the 73-year-old artist and Gaonkar, aged 55, have been romantically involved. Their relationship began in 2016 when they crossed paths during a joint project for The Makers series at the Stanford Arts Institute.
Byrne confirmed the happy engagement news in an interview with The Times, published on Saturday.
While discussing his upcoming album, Who Is The Sky?, he referred to Gaonkar as his ‘fiancée.’
He shared with the media outlet that his fiancee occasionally approaches him with oily hands, intending to mess up his face. At a certain moment, he pondered, “Could it be possible that I might awaken to find myself looking more youthful?
However, there is a hidden lesson as well. This lesson centers around how society often forms judgments based on appearances. Initially, this may not be what you thought you’d take away from the situation.
