Tales of Kenzera: Zau Studio Puts Developers on Redundancy Notice, Seeks Funding
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen studios rise and fall, games that were masterpieces one day, forgotten the next. However, the story of Surgent Studios and their game Tales of Kenzera: Zau has left me both saddened and hopeful.
Surgent Studios, known for creating Tales of Kenzera: Zau, has given their employees notice that they may be let go.
The company shared on Twitter that they are temporarily halting the projects from their Surgent Games division as they search for funding for their upcoming project. Regrettably, this also means giving notice to our staff for potential layoffs during this period.
After the job cuts at the studio earlier this year, and following the successful launch of Tales of Kenzera: Zau, a popular Metroidvania game, our assessment concluded positively as expressed by Rich in his review.
Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is a remarkable 2.5D metroidvania game that seamlessly combines smooth exploration and battle mechanics with a deeply moving, heartfelt storyline.
In their recent statement, Surgent Studios announced that there are some thrilling updates on the horizon for the product Zau.
Furthermore, the narrative unfolds about a blueprint for an innovative venture. This concept is grittier, more intense, and rawer compared to our initial game. If Surgent Studios manages to obtain financing, this promises an exciting development to anticipate.
Help us bring our vision to life.
