Fans were excited to see Jason Orange in the first trailer for the upcoming Take That documentary on Netflix, which will be released on January 27th.
Footage recently surfaced showing the former singer, now 55, with his bandmates – Gary Barlow, 54, Howard Donald, 57, Robbie Williams, 51, and Mark Owen, 53 – during their most popular years. The singer left the group in 2014 after being a member for 24 years and hadn’t been seen in footage like this before.
In an old interview, Jason recalled a time when The Band felt incredibly close and powerful, saying, “We were tight amongst ourselves, it felt like we were kings of the world.”
Oh my gosh, I was rewatching old Take That footage and stumbled upon the cutest thing! Young Robbie, before he left the band in ’95, was being all playful and said they all used to kiss before going on stage… but he described it as a really ‘butch’ kiss! It was so cheeky and just… Ugh, they were perfect! I can’t stop smiling thinking about it.
The trailer caused a huge reaction from fans online. Many wondered if Jason Orange was involved, questioning whether the audio featured his voice. Excitement was high, with comments like ‘I CAN’T WAIT!’ and declarations of long-standing love for the band, such as ‘Take That Forever’.
In a recent interview, Mark explained that he and his team always had a strong desire to prove themselves from the very start.

As someone who’s seen a lot of creative partnerships, I can tell you there’s nothing quite like the energy of being in a band – that sense of camaraderie and excitement is unbeatable. But honestly, looking back, even with all my experience, I don’t think anything could have truly prepared us for what the 90s had in store for us. It was a wild ride!
This three-part documentary series chronicles the incredible journey of the iconic boy band, from their start in Manchester to achieving global success with sold-out concerts, 12 UK number-one hits, and over 45 million records sold worldwide.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that this project includes an incredible look back – we’ve unearthed 35 years of rare archival footage, plus personal materials and brand new interviews with Gary, Howard, and Mark. It’s a truly unique and revealing experience, featuring content you’ve never seen before!
Jason left the band in 2014, explaining he’d been unhappy with the group for a while and didn’t want to participate in making or promoting a new album.
As a long-time observer of pop culture, I remember when Robbie left Take That in ’95. It was a big moment, but Gary, Mark, and Howard really stepped up and proved they could thrive even as a three-piece – they continued to have amazing success!
Take That reunited in 2006 with three members, after being on break for ten years. While the band reformed, Jason was the only original member who didn’t participate in any music projects during that time.
He opted instead to try his hand at acting in a variety of stage productions.
The celebrity has reportedly stopped going to parties in London, preferring to spend his evenings at more relaxed places near his hometown of Manchester.

Take That performed together again after a four-year hiatus at the Coronation Concert for King Charles III in May 2023, but Jason Orange did not join them.
In June 2023, Mark told The Times that he believed Jason had lost interest, but he didn’t want to presume to know Jason’s reasons.
He’s still around, which reminds me of a funny story. We were recently debating who in the band is the best at telling jokes, and it brought to mind how Jason always used to start laughing before he even finished the punchline.
Gary previously confirmed to The Sun that Jason won’t be rejoining Take That. He stated the group will continue with Mark, Howard, and himself for the foreseeable future.
In 2018, Howard shared that Jason had become unreachable, having chosen to live a quiet, private life in the country.
Howard recently revisited some memories, with a few nerves, while getting ready for the band’s upcoming stadium tour.

The band is planning a summer 2026 tour of the UK and Ireland to celebrate both a new album release and a return to one of their most beloved tours.
Taking its name partly from their 2008 album, The Circus tour quickly became the fastest-selling tour ever. When tickets first went on sale in 2009, over 600,000 were sold in less than five hours.
They’re now trying to achieve the same success by bringing back the detailed stage designs, outfits, and items from their previous performances, including Howard’s unicycle, which helped them sell out twenty shows.
The 57-year-old singer shared a video on Instagram showing he’s still nimble, successfully riding a one-wheeled bike for the first time in over 26 years.
Howard was lucky to avoid falling when he briefly separated from his wife, Katie Halil, who was watching him practice riding through a hallway on his own.
Evidently pleased with the effort, he joked: ‘There you go, it’s like riding a bike!’
