As a seasoned horror enthusiast with over two decades of chilling encounters under my belt, I can confidently say that the imminent release of M3GAN 2.0 has sent a jolt of terror-tinged excitement coursing through my veins. The first film was a masterclass in suspense and innovation, and I eagerly await the return of this terrifying AI doll.

2025 is fast approaching, and we can’t wait for the thrilling horror content that’s due out next year! One of the much-anticipated films arriving in 2025 is the sequel to M3GAN, aptly titled M3GAN 2.0. Universal Studios has recently unveiled two exclusive sneak peeks, sparking excitement among horror enthusiasts for its imminent premiere. In the sequel to last year’s blockbuster sci-fi horror film “M3GAN” (2023), we find ourselves once again dealing with the menacing M3GAN 2.0. Though specifics about the storyline are being tightly guarded, it’s clear that this AI-controlled, lifelike doll will be back for more mischief and mayhem.

Gerard Johnstone, original director of the movie, is returning to take charge for the sequel. Akela Cooper has penned the script, who also wrote the script for the initial film. Furthermore, Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster are set to produce this film together with Divide/Conquer.

In the sequel to the original film, Allison Williams and Violet McGraw will once again take on their characters Gemma and Cady respectively. Amie Donald reprises her role as M3GAN, while Jenna Davis continues to lend her voice to M3GAN. Other familiar faces include Brian Jordan Alvarez (Cole) and Jen Van Epps (Tess). Newcomers to the cast for M3GAN 2.0 include Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari, and Jemaine Clement, who will be stepping into fresh roles.

Filming for the horror movie M3GAN 2.0 wrapped up in October 2024, and it’s now undergoing post-production, where it’ll be refined and polished before being released in theaters. The release date for M3GAN 2.0 in the U.S. has been confirmed as June 27, 2025. Much like its predecessor, this sequel will be distributed by Universal Pictures in America.

As a gamer excitedly anticipating the upcoming sequel, I shared my thoughts with Entertainment Weekly back in December 2024. I expressed that the project is incredibly ambitious. I believed that the narrative should expand significantly in terms of size and grandeur, but it’s still operating on a shoestring budget compared to the scale of Marvel movies.

Johnstone mentioned that M3GAN will sport some fresh appearances in contrast to her initial movie portrayal. He explained to EW, “Being a living doll, one of the joys is getting to play with different outfits. We had a few looks in the first film, but for M3GAN’s sequel, I wanted to create no less than 10 distinct styles.
