Summary
- TAG Heuer unveils three new Monaco watches to celebrate the Monaco Grand Prix and Indianapolis 500
- Each model features a distinctive design, including vintage stopwatch-inspired aesthetics, Gulf racing colors and advanced TH-Titanium material
I’m thrilled to share that TAG Heuer is gearing up for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix and Indianapolis 500 with an extraordinary trio of watch releases! We have the Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch, the Monaco Chronograph x Gulf, and the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph 2025. As the first title partner in the history of the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco, we’re proud to introduce these limited-edition Monaco models to celebrate iconic moments in motorsport. These watches not only showcase our strong connection with the racing world but also symbolize our rich heritage in this exhilarating sport.
TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got my eyes on the latest addition – the limited-edition Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch. This beauty is a modern take on iconic Heuer stopwatches from the ’60s and ’70s. It’s housed in a sleek 39mm titanium case, blackened with DLC for a stealthy touch. The design echoes the precision and adrenaline of high-speed racing, with its clean lines reminiscent of vintage stopwatches. High-contrast, monochromatic subdials and markers make it easy to read, even in the heat of the action.
As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled to own a watch that preserves its mechanical link to the legendary Monaco. Powered by the Calibre 11, it elegantly embodies a tribute to the racing gloves worn by countless drivers throughout history, thus fortifying its rich motorsport heritage. Priced at an approximate 9,600 CHF ($11,614 USD), this exceptional timepiece is part of a limited edition run of only 970 pieces – a figure that underscores the indelible impact the brand made during the ’70s, its defining decade in motorsport.
TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph x Gulf
In a special edition chronograph, TAG Heuer and Gulf revive their connection with the golden age of auto racing and the cinematic history that cemented the Monaco watch’s iconic status. With only 971 units available, this design pays homage to 1971, the year the movie “Le Mans” premiered, immortalizing Steve McQueen’s legend.
This unique collaboration showcases the iconic Gulf color scheme, distinguished by its light blue and vibrant orange hues, which gained prominence in endurance racing throughout the late ’60s and early ’70s. The straps on this model are handcrafted by Hinchman, an Indiana-based company that uses the same material as Steve McQueen’s original racing suit, adding a touch of exclusivity to this limited edition piece. This Gulf-inspired model retails for approximately 9,300 CHF ($11,251 USD).
TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph
The 2025 edition of the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph introduces a novel in-house case material called TH-Titanium, characterized by its organic, ever-changing texture that adapts with the light. This new timepiece is 41 millimeters in diameter and boasts a sapphire bezel and dial, allowing watch enthusiasts to appreciate the flawless blend of form and function. The transparent dial reveals striking black opaline chronograph counters that contrast boldly, while the rattrapante hand, finished in vivid lime green, boosts both visibility and aesthetic appeal. This vibrant lime color is gently incorporated into the titanium rattrapante pusher and counter hands, accentuating its racing-inspired design.
Turning the watch over exposes a sapphire crystal caseback, providing an unrestricted look at the Calibre TH81-00 movement, which is recognized for its complex symmetry and precise hand-craftsmanship. Retailing at 145,000 Swiss Francs (approximately $175,417 USD), each watch comes with a unique number and is fastened with a black calfskin strap, adorned with a textile pattern and a titanium clasp.
