T.I. countersues ex pal Sabrina Peterson for defamation three years after she accused him of sexual abuse
As someone who has closely followed the saga of this celebrity feud, I must say it’s quite a rollercoaster ride. The twists and turns are reminiscent of a telenovela, but without the passionate kisses and romantic moments.
T.I. is filing a lawsuit against his ex-friend Sabrina Peterson for libel, following her accusations against him that occurred three years ago and resulted in him being sued by her.
44-year-old hip-hop artist Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., also known as T.I., stated that Peterson developed an unusual fixation on him and his household, following the termination of their friendship with her.
According to a recent report from TMZ, they asserted that they severed connections with Peterson as she reportedly didn’t have a positive impact on them. This supposedly led her to initiate unfounded and misleading criticisms against them online.
According to the source, T.I. claims that Peterson’s posts about him and his family are harmful lies, allegedly shared with the purpose of causing distress to his close ones.
The rapper additionally asserted that he isn’t the only one targeted by Peterson’s online actions; he suggested that there are others (unnamed) who have secured legal safeguards against her throughout the years.
Claiming that her online actions were causing him distress, he’s now taking legal action against her, demanding an undisclosed sum in compensation for his discomfort, wearing his newly purchased attire.
The ongoing legal dispute between her (accusing T.I. and his wife of defamation, invasion of privacy, and several other dropped allegations) remains unresolved.
Previously, Peterson alleged in a lawsuit filed in March 2021 that T.I. and his wife, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, had been accused of spiking drinks to facilitate sexual assaults against several women.
Additionally, she claimed that on one occasion, T.I. pointed a firearm at her head and warned her, “If you don’t watch it, I’ll end your life,” following a disagreement with his assistant.
As a lifestyle expert, I can share that when such allegations were brought against me and my partner, we vehemently refuted them. Our legal representative swiftly dismissed these accusations, labeling them as a malicious attempt to extort us, similar to a shakedown campaign, during that period.
A week has passed since the trial date for the initial case was pushed back by a judge, who had originally set it for December 14, 2024, and rescheduled it to take place approximately six months into the year 2025.
Approximately three years ago, Peterson leveled accusations against T.I. and Tiny, alleging defamation through social media posts that labeled him as strange. Furthermore, he claimed they threatened him with a firearm and sexually harassed multiple women.
She asserted that a pair, which included Shekinah Jones Anderson, falsely accused her by posting untrue statements on social media, causing others to believe these statements referred to her.
In the post under scrutiny, Tiny had published a picture showing T.I. standing alongside Peterson’s young son (who was eight years old at the time).
In her January 26, 2021 post, Tiny wrote: ‘Wait a moment,’ she said. ‘Are you suggesting that your abuser should train your sons? He was just an uncle two years ago… I seem to recall your husband assaulting you. Was it yesterday or the day before? Have you made up your mind again about this? What’s going on with you today, Pooh?… You’re acting oddly. Everyone knows that you have always been different.’
Three days later, T.I. and Tiny posted a joint statement denying Peterson’s claims.
Ti-Ti shared a video on Instagram that eventually became popular. He stated, “Everything we’ve done was always with consent from adult partners who share our interests and preferences.
He emphasized that they always obtained what they desired without coercion or manipulation. They neither forced nor drugged anyone against their will, and no one was held captive unwillingly. They didn’t make anyone perform actions against their will, didn’t engage in trafficking, and certainly not sexually. Moreover, he clarified that he personally had never raped anyone.
T.I. and Tiny took their legal dispute all the way to California’s 2nd Appellate District. The decision made by the appeals court led to a judge dismissing five out of seven claims in Peterson’s initial lawsuit, which was first submitted in March 2021.
Following the dismissal of allegations such as trade defamation, intentional and negligent disruption of potential business benefits, and intentional and negligent causing of emotional distress, a court ordered Peterson to cover the legal expenses incurred by T.I. and Tiny.
A mere few months past, Peterson found themselves under scrutiny by myself and my spouse, T.I. and Tiny, over alleged non-payment of a $96,000 restitution they claimed was due to us following an unsuccessful lawsuit.
In September, they submitted a court petition alleging that Peterson deliberately fails to meet the court-issued payment, as indicated in records we’ve acquired by In Touch.
Earlier this month, a judge ruled in favor of T.I. and Tiny, as Judge Michael Shultz agreed to issue an order accusing Peterson of contempt for failing to pay the substantial amount in legal fees that she had been instructed to pay them, according to Rolling Stone.
In my role as a lifestyle expert, I must share an update on the ongoing legal situation involving T.I. and Tiny. Contrary to their hopes, the judge has declined their request to dismiss the outstanding allegations, ensuring that the trial will proceed as planned. Notably, the trial concerning Peterson’s claims of defamation and invasion of privacy has been postponed until June.
The judge scheduled the contempt proceeding for March 6th of the following year, indicating that if she fails to show up, he will likely issue an arrest warrant.
Initially, Peterson expressed her anticipation towards the hearing and her eagerness for justice to be upheld.
‘This has been a very long and very emotionally, mentally, and financially taxing road,’ she said.
As a die-hard fan, I’m utterly crushed that I can’t make it to the courtroom in five days, but my spirits soar knowing things are progressing. The anticipation for my moment in court is palpable. I can hardly wait for justice to unfold.
The first hearing in their initial case is now set for June 9, 2025; as of now, there’s no fixed date for T.I.’s recent legal dispute.
