SZA’s Super Bowl Performance Sparks Lip-Sync Controversy Amid Kendrick’s Drake Diss!
Critics claim that SZA was miming to pre-recorded vocals during her Super Bowl 2025 concert collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the specified Sunday evening.
35-year-old artist Solána Imani Rowe, more commonly known as SZA, collaborated with a rapper during the halftime performance to sing fan favorites “Luther” and “All The Stars”.
However, fans expressed that her lip-synching appeared very noticeable, voicing their opinions on X, where they posted comments such as: “Yes, SZA, you were lip-syncing for your life ❤️”.
The initial blend was extremely poor. However, if you revisit it on Apple Music currently, they’ve rectified the mix. Dot’s voice was almost inaudible due to mumbling and the microphone level was significantly low. Additionally, SZA appeared to be lip-syncing.
‘sza lip sync was soo obvious n i’m naive but cmon now’,
‘Why did Sza lip sync that superbowl performance? ☠️’,

‘Sza didn’t even lip sync right lemme show her’,
‘Okay but SZA lil lip sync for your life ATE’,
‘sza my lip sync queen dw i still love u twin’,
TopMob have contacted SZA’s representatives for a comment.
Kendrick continued to take a savage swipe at SZA’s ex-boyfriend Drake.
Despite having dated Drake in both 2009 and 2023, SZA opted to perform alongside his musical rival, Kendrick Lamar.
The Grammy-winning artist displayed his skill with words by beginning his performance perched atop a vehicle, subsequently making a subtle jab at his fellow rapper, Drake, who is 38 years old.
Regarding Drake’s lawsuit against Universal Music Group over the contentious track “Not Like Us,” which brands him as a ‘pedophile,’ Kendrick Lamar opted to perform the song; however, he chose to omit the specific term from his performance.

Instead of uttering a specific word due to fear of another legal action, it appears the musician chose to omit it. Just before commencing his rap, he warned the audience, “I’d like to perform your favorite song, but you know they’re always ready to take legal action.
Back in 2009, I was fortunate enough to be in a relationship with a worldwide sensation known as Drake. Yet, it wasn’t a passionate, intense romance, as some might imagine. We shared moments together, but it wasn’t the kind of fiery relationship that people often talk about.
In October 2023, as reported by Complex, SZA reaffirmed a short-lived romance she had with Drake, yet emphasized that it wasn’t particularly significant.
2022 saw SZA clarifying her relationship with Drake during an interview with Audacy, stating, “We’re on good terms. We’ve always been friendly. There’s never been any awkwardness,” as reported by JustJared.
Previously, I, a devoted fan, found myself referenced by Drake in his song “Mr. Right Now” from 2020. This remarkable collaboration also includes 21 Savage.
The 33-year-old songstress added, ‘Anytime he’s ever mentioned me, it’s always been positive.
In my perspective, I’ve never heard any criticism from him, and I am truly thankful for that. He commands immense respect in my eyes, and I can’t help but admire him… To me, he’s more than just a figure, he’s King Drake.
