System Shock 2 Remaster Gets Release Date and New Trailer

Nightdive Studios unveiled a fresh trailer for the forthcoming remastered version of System Shock 2, and set the launch date as 26th June.

The game on display is none other than the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. From the trailer, you’ll notice that this isn’t a total transformation but rather a meticulous restoration project, more akin to carefully preserving an artifact.

This software employs Nightdive Studios’ exclusive KEX Engine, a tool they’ve utilized in games like Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and the Enhanced Edition of System Shock, among several others.

The game’s official description reads:

42 years following the initial events of System Shock, the malevolent AI SHODAN and her horde of relentless mutants have taken over the starship Von Braun. The players take on the role of a soldier who is revived from cryo-sleep, finding that cybernetic enhancements have been surgically attached to their body.

Embarking on a chilling journey to decipher the haunting secret behind that abandoned spaceship, I’ll have to sharpen my adaptable talents, wield mighty weapons, and employ spectral psychic powers to withstand the grotesque creatures spawned by SHODAN – all while enduring her grandiose ego tripping.

System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster is out on 26th June, on consoles and PC.
