Sydney Sweeney’s Wedding to Jonathan Davino Postponed Amid Busy Schedules and Rumors

Sydney Sweeney’s wedding with her fiance, Jonathan Davino, has been delayed for now, which was originally planned three years following their engagement.

It appears that the actress from Madame Web, who is 27 years old, and the restaurant owner, who is 41, had planned to marry in May, but, as reported by TMZ, their wedding has been postponed for now.

It appears the exact causes for the delay aren’t fully understood, but it has been confirmed through various sources that the wedding had to be rescheduled because the couple is extremely busy with their schedules.

The couple, who became engaged in early 2022 and faced gossip about their relationship with Glen Powell from their shared project “Anyone but You,” were most recently spotted together in January.

Previously, Sydney admitted that her hectic work schedule had prevented her from organizing the wedding. In conversations with ET, she confessed her passion for work, stating, “I’m so engrossed in my work! I’m a workaholic and I can’t get enough of it.

Currently, there’s a single project being filmed and two more in preparation for her, suggesting that she could soon be occupied with filming, explaining the potential postponement of the upcoming wedding.

Previously, Sydney posted a heartwarming kiss picture with her future spouse on Instagram during their recent vacation.

The pair engaged in some rare PDA in a crowded room, surrounded by their loves ones.

The pair exchanged a romantic kiss, reminiscent of Hollywood movies, while one of them lifted the other gracefully using only one arm. She clung to his hand during the moment, as their friends watched on.

In the picture, she was wearing a black tank top and blue jeans, whereas Davino donned a white button-up shirt, denim pants, and sneakers.

‘The last few days of 2024 are among my all-time favorites,’ the Emmy nominee wrote in her latest post, which included photos of her jetskiing, spending time with friends, singing karaoke, and going to a Roaring Twenties party.

In 2018, the actress known for her role in “Anyone But You” and her partner, Jonathan, were first rumored to be in a romantic relationship. After four years together, they became engaged in 2022.

They sparked engagement rumors when Sydney was spotted wearing an eye-catching diamond ring.

Soon after, People confirmed she had accepted his proposal.

In 2022, Sydney and a businessman from Chicago primarily maintain a private relationship away from public scrutiny. During an interview with Cosmopolitan, she expressed the importance of maintaining privacy in their connection.

‘Sometimes I feel guilty about it,’ she admitted.

I’d prefer to show an ordinary glimpse of my life, proving it’s not just about glamour. However, I find it difficult because, on one hand, I value my personal space, and on the other, social media serves as another avenue for business matters.

As a devoted admirer, I find myself drawn to your work, yet I choose not to engage with you on social media platforms. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the opportunity, but I value my personal space and see these channels more as professional arenas rather than personal connections.

She added, ‘Revealing aspects of my personal life might jeopardize the authenticity and reputation I’m striving for in my business and professional image.’

Besides collaborating in the entertainment world, this duo has jointly contributed to projects. Specifically, Sydney acted in the 2023 romantic comedy titled Anyone But You, while simultaneously co-producing the movie under their shared production banner, Fifty-Fifty Films, with Jonathan’s involvement.

When given the opportunity, the talented actress shared with the media that she found it amazing to collaborate with individuals whom she desires to do business with.

‘It’s amazing having someone who cheers you on and someone who fully just supports what you do.’

In an interview with Glamour UK in December 2023, she shared more about her upcoming wedding by mentioning that she has a Pinterest board brimming with ideas for the special occasion.

She mentioned: “Aren’t most girls drawn to setting up a Pinterest board for their wedding? I began doing so even at the age of ten. As of now, I haven’t decided on a specific color scheme.

Instead of organizing events, she prefers creating memorable experiences. So, her thoughts are along the lines of, “What kind of experience should I design for them? Are we planning a sunny getaway to the tropics or a lively carnival?” She went on.

Over the past period, I’ve been pondering the fact that I’ve been in a prolonged romantic partnership for quite some time now – something that seems rather uncommon in my line of work, and personally, not typical for someone at my stage in life.

She clarified, ‘People are always eager to know who I’m associated with and what that experience is like, yet I believe it’s crucial to have some personal space. I’m quite open generally, but I make an effort to reserve certain aspects for myself, as I occasionally share too much and find myself in tricky situations.’

Previously, Glen, a fellow actor from Sydney, openly acknowledged that they fueled speculations about their romantic relationship last year, mainly as a tactic to generate excitement for their upcoming romantic comedy film.

Before the premiere of the film, there was much gossip suggesting that Glen and Sydney may have been involved romantically while working together on set.

At that moment, the theory seemed somewhat suspicious as Sydney was already betrothed to her long-term partner, Jonathan.

Instead, it’s worth noting that Glen admitted they intentionally fueled the rumors for the sake of boosting their film’s success at the box office, with himself and Sydney being part of this plan.

He noted that the strategy proved successful, given the movie’s massive success, and further commented in the New York Times, “Sydney is incredibly intelligent.

The leading actor from Hollywood, known for films like Top Gun: Maverick, stated, ‘To make a romantic comedy successful, you need to offer excitement and a strong connection between the characters.’

Sydney will soon begin working on two projects: ‘Scandalous!’, a dramatic portrayal of the romantic relationship between Sammy Davis Jr. and Kim Novak, and ‘The Masque of the Red Death’, which is inspired by the short story of the same title penned by Edgar Allan Poe.

Sydney is also slated to return as her character Cassie Howard on Season 3 of HBO’s Euphoria.
