Alanna Ubach, known for her role in Euphoria, claims a Lyft driver stole a package worth $1,000. Lyft has since banned the driver from their service.
Okay, so here’s what happened – I recently had a bit of a frustrating situation. I had a package that needed to get to someone else, and I arranged for a driver to handle the delivery in Hollywood. Unfortunately, the driver didn’t follow through, and it ended up feeling like a real theft, so I had to report it. It’s just one of those things that happens, but definitely a headache!
Ubach said the driver misled her to believe that package delivery was a service provided by Lyft.
Ubach explained that she taped a package with $1,000 in cash together and tried to send it with a driver, but it never reached its destination.
Ubach, who stars as Suze in the show alongside Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, and Jacob Elordi, explained that the driver stopped using his phone once he reached the location she gave him.
Daily Mail has reached out to the LAPD and Ubach’s rep for further comment on this story.
Ubach, known for her work on shows like The Last of Us, Family Guy, and Mythic Quest, explained that the person she was sending money to waited for 45 minutes, but the delivery driver never showed up.
Ubach told TMZ she contacted reps with the rideshare company to file a grievance.
At that time, Ubach said she was informed that package delivery was not a service offered.
Ubach stated that Lyft informed her the driver claimed to have no knowledge of the charge and wasn’t responsible for it.
Lyft responded quickly to Ubach’s report, according to a statement given to Daily Mail.
We know this is upsetting for the rider, and we’re treating this report with the seriousness it deserves,” the spokesperson stated.
‘Lyft is in contact with the rider and we have permanently removed the driver from the platform.’
Lyft’s spokesperson explained that you can’t use the app to deliver items on their own – only to transport people. Doing so breaks their terms of service.
Lyft works with law enforcement on reported misuse of its platform. This includes providing records when legally required and conducting its own investigations when necessary.
Ubach explained the charges were connected to bills left over from her sister, who died in November.
On the show Euphoria, Ubach plays Suzane Howard, the mother of Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) and Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow).
The character has a difficult relationship with her former partner, Gus Howard (played by Nick Blood), and struggles with alcohol.
