Sydney Sweeney unveils NEW bold haircut as she graces the red carpet at Christy premiere in LA

Sydney Sweeney showed off a striking new haircut at the Los Angeles premiere of her film, Christy, on Saturday.

The 28-year-old actress, known for her daring fashion choices at recent events, showed off her new style at a screening of the biopic at the 2025 AFI Fest.

The actress, known for her blonde hair, showed off a new, shorter haircut. Her waves now fall just above her shoulders and are a lighter blonde color.

It seems she recently changed her hairstyle. She was seen with longer hair just last week at the Academy Museum Gala, and also wore it down the day before at the London premiere of Christy.

Sweeney looked effortlessly glamorous in a pale pink halter dress with a low-cut neckline.

The dress had a fitted top and a defined waist, thanks to a belt. From the waist down, the skirt was full and featured a floral pattern layered over it.

I was really drawn to Zendaya’s look – she kept it so simple with very few accessories. She wore these beautiful, flowing earrings and stacked some seriously eye-catching rings on both hands, which really completed the outfit!

She wore classic evening makeup, with mascara on her lashes and a subtle eyeshadow.

She used a pale pink blush on her cheeks to create a glowing look, and finished with a natural, glossy nude lip color.

Sweeney flaunted her look as she strutted on the red carpet during the 2025 AFI Fest. 

The actor has been sharing information about the new movie, a biographical sports drama based on the life of boxer Christy Martin.

David Michôd’s new movie will be released in theaters on November 7th next month.

Sweeney will play the character of Martin in the project, joining fellow actors Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, and Katy O’Brian.

The actress noticeably gained 30 pounds to prepare for her role, as she revealed in an interview with Variety last month at the Toronto Film Festival.

The star shared that they worked with a nutritionist, a weight trainer, and a boxing coach to help them achieve their goals.

I increased my calorie intake, started drinking lots of protein shakes and taking supplements, and basically ate whatever I wanted.

I was always eating – lots of Smuckers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and milkshakes – because we were so busy and active. Luckily, I burned off all those calories as quickly as I consumed them, but it was definitely hard work keeping up with it all.

Sweeney also said they were simply happy that Christy’s story was being shared.

Some critics have given the film very negative reviews before it even came out, including the BBC’s culture critic who only gave it a two-star rating.

It’s hard to fully lose yourself in the movie ‘Christy’ because you’re constantly reminded that it’s Sydney Sweeney playing the role. Knowing her public persona keeps you from connecting with the character and the story.

The central problem with Christy is that while actress Sweeney is drawing attention to the project, her own fame actually makes it hard for audiences to see her as the character. It’s a challenge to separate the actress from the role – will she ever be able to overcome the public’s perception of her off-screen persona?

The Telegraph awarded the film two stars, criticizing it as a boxing biopic that, despite its visual flair, ultimately falls short.

While the lead actress in Euphoria delivers a fantastic performance, the story itself feels predictable and holds back the show’s potential.

The review also noted that Sweeney performed well with the resources she had and came across as believable.

The Times praised the film, awarding it four stars and calling it a well-made movie.

Sweeney’s performance was applauded at the Hamptons International Film Festival earlier this month. 

The actress received an award for her performance in Christy during the celebration.

Currently, critics have given the movie ‘Christy’ a 69% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audience scores are still being tallied.

Sophie Sweeney recently revealed she is dating music executive Scooter Braun, known for his work with artists like Justin Bieber.

The couple had a great time at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood last month.

Sweeney and Braun first encountered each other at the extravagant wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice in late June, though it’s unclear exactly when their relationship started.
