As a gamer, I’d put myself in the shoes of Millie, a resilient character from the Anybody But You series, who’s given a new lease on life as a maid for the wealthy duo Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew. However, it isn’t long before I uncover their chilling family secrets that threaten to shake the very foundations of their luxurious existence.
According to Deadline, the movie titled “The Housemaid” is set to be helmed by Paul Feig, who is known for directing “Bridesmaids.” The screenplay has been reworked by Rebecca Sonnenshine, a writer from the series “The Boys.” Additionally, Sweeney and Seyfried will serve as executive producers.
Instead of sharing the news on her Instagram account by posting a clip of herself reading the book and looking surprised, Sweeney opted to express it differently – she uploaded a video on Instagram where she can be seen engrossed in the book, with an expression of shock visible on her face.
“Tell me about yourself, Millie #TheHousemaidMovie – coming soon!!” she captioned the post.
Erin Westerman, one of Lionsgate’s co-presidents, expressed her thoughts on the project as follows: “Reading the book was exciting because we could envision the cast, and Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are ideal fits for Millie and Nina. They both possess a certain enigmatic quality, depth, and remarkable talent at portraying characters who keep some secrets hidden.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but be excited about the collaboration! We’re joining forces with Paul Feig, a creative genius I had the pleasure of working with on A Simple Favor and its forthcoming sequel. Known for his exceptional skills in crafting stories with captivating female leads, he’s definitely the right person to bring our vision to life.
Upcoming schedule for Sweeney is quite full, as he’s planning to appear in the Apple TV+ film titled “Echo Valley” and also star in a biographical movie focusing on the life of boxing legend Christy Martin.
The actress will resume her iconic character, Cassie Howard, in the third season of Euphoria, with filming scheduled for the following year.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan in August, she mentioned that the upcoming time leap in the series was a “novel approach” for her.
