As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for technology and security, I must commend Sydney Sweeney for her swift action in catching a burglar while she was miles away from home. Her smart investment in home security technology proved to be priceless in this instance. It’s a valuable reminder that even when we are far from our homes, we can still keep an eye on things thanks to modern technology.

Sydney Sweeney employed home technology from afar in Los Angeles to apprehend a burglar, even though she was situated on the opposite side of the country at that time.

The 27-year-old actress was in North Carolina filming her biopic on trailblazing female boxer Christy Martin, when the security cameras around her home alerted her to an intruder.

At around 3:30 AM on Monday, as reported by TMZ, a burglar apparently slipped onto Sweeney’s land. However, it seems the intruder didn’t linger in her yard for very long.

After securing entry, the suspect took some belongings from Sweeney’s neighbor’s house and left hastily.

In response to the footage he saw, Sweeney promptly notified LA authorities, allowing local law enforcement to respond swiftly and capture the suspect.

The burglar was charged with felony burglary after being apprehended by the authorities.

Sweeney has joined the list of well-known individuals affected by burglaries this year, as several celebrities have had their houses broken into.

2024 saw a series of break-ins at the residences of celebrities including Tom Hanks, Jessie J, Sarah Hyland, Marlon Wayans, and Corinna Kopf.

It’s unclear which home the potential burglary took place at, since she has two L.A.-area homes.

She bought her first home in the Westwood area of Los Angeles for $3 million back in November 2021, which hadn’t been on the market for nearly 50 years.

She also purchased a home in the posh Bel Air neighborhood for $6.2 million in 2023.

Back in May, Sweeney was cast as Christy Martin, with David Michod (known for “Animal Kingdom”) set to direct. The script they’ll be working from is one that Michod and Mirrah Foulkes collaborated on.

Martin served as a trailblazing female boxer, significantly contributing to the recognition and popularity of women’s boxing, often referred to as the “sweet science.

She became the initial female boxer to appear on Sports Illustrated’s cover and also secured a contract as the first female boxer with Don King, who is known for his contentious promotions.

From 1989 through 2012, I graced the boxing ring under the moniker “The Coal Miner’s Daughter,” accumulating an impressive record of 49 victories, 7 defeats, and 3 ties. This journey was a testament to my passion for the sport and my unwavering dedication.

Besides the horrific attempted murder by her spouse, James V. Martin, Martin miraculously endured gunshots and stabbings.

In 2012, James was convicted for second-degree murder and received a sentence of 25 years imprisonment, where he remains today.
