Susanna Reid announces break from Good Morning Britain
Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has announced she will be taking a break from the show.
At the closing of today’s broadcast, the host mentioned that she won’t appear on the morning program next week because of the midyear break. However, she assured us that she’ll be back shortly after that.
Closing the conversation with frequent visitors Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire, she expressed: “It’s a pleasure to have you both here this morning, Andrew and Kevin.
After the break, Susanna made it clear that she would return following the mid-term recess. As for today, “Good Morning Britain” resumes at 6 am, and it’s now time to catch up with “Lorraine”.
Last month, Susanna revealed a fresh change in her hairstyle, deciding to follow the guidance of pop legend Cher by growing out her previously short bob and sporting longer hair instead.
She posted on Instagram: ‘A new year brings a new hairstyle!’ After getting ‘the big chop’ in 2023, pop idol Cher advised me to keep my long hair. So, I’m going against the flow and growing it out for 2025 using hair extensions by @christinabhair.
During an appearance on GMB, co-presenter Ed Balls expressed his disagreement, stating: “I prefer the shorter hairstyle. You might recall when we spoke with Cher and she suggested, ‘Keep your hair long.’ I thought to myself, ‘No, you’re mistaken, Cher.’
Later on, Susanna seemed to have forgiven her co-presenter, as she shared a photo with Ed and captioned it: “What an intriguing morning – though I’m not sure @edballs is a fan of my latest hairstyle!
Recently, GMB faced a surge of around 200 complaints to Ofcom last month due to Adil Ray’s remarks about darts player Luke Littler. Additionally, the program received criticism for supposedly reckless reporting when Nick Dixon was filmed reporting during Storm Éowyn in high winds.
Good Morning Britain airs weekday mornings on ITV between 6am and 9am.
