Information about the cast details and the official roster for “Survivor 50” produced by CBS and Paramount+ might be unveiled shortly.

Despite the abundance of drama in Season 48 of “Survivor”, CBS is far from wrapping up its reign in the reality TV world, continuing to captivate millions of viewers each season without any hints of waning interest. First airing back in May 2000 with Jeff Probst as the host, this competition series remains a popular choice for audiences.

Currently, Survivor 48 is approaching the end of its TV run after starting on February 26.

When Will Survivor 50 Premiere?

For the past five years, Survivor has generally stuck to an annual winter release pattern.

Based on the pattern established since 2006, where the last five even-numbered seasons have been aired between February 12 and March 9, it’s highly likely that Survivor 50 will debut on CBS somewhere within the period spanning early February to early March 2026.

In simpler terms, we typically find out who will be competing on Survivor during the even-numbered seasons in late January or early February. Since there’s a lot of excitement about who will be on Survivor 50, it’s likely that the full cast list will be announced by late January 2026.

As the broadcast of “Survivor 49” on CBS and Paramount+ approaches in December 2025, excitement is mounting about the upcoming Season 50 in 2026.

Standout feature: “Survivor 50” will break new ground for the series by letting viewers decide certain aspects of the season, a first in the show’s history. This edition is aptly named “Survivor: In the Hands of the Fans“, embodying this concept following Probst’s confirmation on Instagram.

Probst openly acknowledged that relinquishing such extensive control for the upcoming season feels a tad nerve-wracking (as reported by TVLine), given that he and his team are accustomed to being highly engaged in shaping the format for each season. Yet, there’s an evident enthusiasm in him about the prospect of embarking on a fresh experiment and inviting fans to play a more active role.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Probst described this concept as their most daring endeavor yet. However, he emphasized that the specifics won’t be disclosed until the season commences. The challenges will primarily be chosen by a majority vote, but there will be plenty of surprises and unexpected developments to maintain an engaging experience for the participants.

Who Will Be Cast in Survivor 50?

As the 50th season of “Survivor” approaches, the main curiosity is which individuals will be selected to compete for the grand prize worth $300,000, following a captivating lineup of contestants in “Survivor 48”.

Probst, speaking through Mike Bloom at Parade, discussed the challenge in selecting contestants for each season, highlighting that having too many isn’t ideal. The primary objective, though, is to please fans by assembling a cast that encompasses various types of players and covers different eras throughout Survivor history.

A supposed cast list, claimed to be from a source known as Redmond, was circulated, but Redmond later denied these claims.

When Will Survivor 50 Begin Filming?

According to Greenfly’s update, the cameras for Survivor 50 haven’t started rolling just yet. This is because Season 48 is still in the process of airing, and once it wraps up, Season 49 will jump right in.

In summary, “Survivor 48” was recorded from June 22 to July 27, 2024, and premiered on CBS on February 26, 2025. On the other hand, filming for “Survivor 46” took place between June 1 and June 23, 2023, with its first episode airing on February 28, 2024.

If Survivor 50 adopts a similar shooting timetable, CBS anticipates wrapping up their primary filming by June or July this year.
