Surprise! Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is releasing early on Disney+
As a die-hard Star Wars fan who has spent countless hours in the galaxy far, far away, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the early release of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.” I grew up with the original trilogy and have eagerly awaited every new addition to this epic saga. The fact that it’s reminiscent of classic 80’s adventure films like “The Goonies” and “E.T.” only sweetens the deal for me, as those movies were a big part of my childhood.
In an unexpected yet delightful turn of events, Disney and Lucasfilm have brought forward the release date for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Originally slated for debut on December 3rd, this much-anticipated series will now premiere a full day earlier, on December 2nd, with a two-episode launch.
Disney refers to this action as an “early holiday present” tailored for fans, such as yourself, who are eagerly anticipating the arrival of this fresh team. Yet, it may also be associated with the recent news about a theatrical debut.
On the same day, December 2nd, a unique, two-episode preview of the series will take place at 25 theaters spread across the U.S., and these screenings can be attended free of charge by fans through Fandango. The series will later be available on Disney+ for viewing.
Due to high demand, numerous screenings are no longer available, leaving us with the option to watch the two-episode premiere of Skeleton Crew comfortably on our sofas. The series will debut on Disney+ on December 2nd at 6:00 p.m. PT. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. PT, starting from December 10th.
Adventure waits for no one! #SkeletonCrew is arriving early. Stream the two-episode series premiere on December 2 at 6PM PT, only on @DisneyPlus.

Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Chris Ford, the screenwriter, have conceived Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. This new production shares similarities with timeless coming-of-age tales such as The Goonies and E.T. The general atmosphere of the series, from early previews and trailers, appears to be reminiscent of 80’s Amblin Entertainment films.
The storyline of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” revolves around four youngsters who stumble upon an intriguing secret on what initially appeared to be a secure home planet. Subsequently, they find themselves navigating a perilous and unfamiliar galaxy, encountering figures such as Jod Na Nawood, the enigmatic character portrayed by Law. Their quest to return home will lead them on an exhilarating adventure that surpasses their wildest expectations, introducing them to both unexpected friends and formidable foes along the way.
In the opening of the series, Jon Watts took charge as the director for the premiere. Meanwhile, the reins were handed over to David Lowery for episode number two. Altogether, the season promises a total of eight episodes.
