Surprise show with multiple Taskmaster favourites overtakes hit show in UK streaming chart

The comedy show titled “Last One Laughing” has climbed its way up the U.K.’s streaming rankings, dethroning the recently popular series “Wheel of Time“.

In this comedy program, standouts from Taskmaster like Lou Sanders, Bob Mortimer, Daisy May Cooper, Joe Lycett, and Sara Pascoe participate. The concept is straightforward: no laughter is permitted.

As a game enthusiast, I find myself immersed in a comedic challenge hosted by the witty Jimmy Carr. In this show, a band of humorists like me get locked up together, aiming to tickle each other’s funny bones. In the trailer, the dry-witted Carr sets the tone with his humorous comment: “I haven’t laughed since the 90s.

The initial four episodes of the series were released on March 20, and since then, it has moved up to the number two spot on the Top 10 chart for Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom.

Among action crime series, only Reacher has consistently outperformed Last One Laughing for nearly 200 days. Now, with the debut of its third season, Wheel of Time featuring Rosamund Pike has joined the rankings but trails behind Last One Laughing.

For the very first time, “Last One Laughing” is making its debut in the United Kingdom. However, the format of this show has already proven successful on a global scale, with adaptations being broadcasted in countries such as Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, and Ireland (with Ireland’s version hosted by Graham Norton). This concept was originally based on a Japanese game show titled “Documental,” which started airing in 2016.

Throughout the series, they will employ all their humor skills in an attempt to outwit their rivals, while managing not to laugh themselves.
